There is a reason countries are showing extreme interest in JF-17 only after Block-2 and Dual seater JF-17 is confirmed by manufacturers. Despite concrete efforts from PAF since 2011 to sell JF-17 block-1. Nobody like to buy a toothless aircraft.
Absolutely.
The JF-17B can be marketed in a number of ways - depending on the customer. For example, PAC can pitch the JF-17B as an affordable LIFT to the GCC states, who are increasingly looking to tighten expenditure. Why spend $45mn on a T-50 or $60mn on a M-346 when the JF-17B could do the job well for less?
Countries such as Nigeria, Azerbaijan, etc, could see the JF-17 as an affordable multi-role fighter solution, and a genuine qualitative boost in their respective regions. The JF-17 Block-II is going to be as good if not better than what the likes of Armenia and Chad are fielding. Furthermore, the JF-17B can be marketed as a dual-use LIFT and OCU. In fact, JF-17B could even be marketed as as an affordable strike aircraft, and having PAC source LGB, PGB, AShM, etc as part of the package would help a lot as well.
Then there's JF-17 Block-III, which could attract Morocco, Jordan, etc, who are looking for platforms to introduce new qualitative capabilities, but without busting the budget. And again, we can market JF-17B to those Block-III users as dual-use LIFT and OCU.
