ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar on Monday apprised the National Assembly that the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project would hopefully be completed by 2015, which would help bridge the increasing gap between demand and supply of gas.

“We are supposed to start taking gas through Pak-Iran gas pipeline project from Dec 2015,” the minister said while responding to a supplementary question during the question-hour session.

At this stage, Naveed Qamar said, there was no proposal under consideration to include another country in the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project.

He said a team of experts was going to visit Tehran on Tuesday to discuss the general sales agreements with Iranian authorities.

Great planning tell the public a month ago that it will be working in 2014. Than the very next month tell them it will take a year more by 2015. Where taking 1 step forward and back At this rate by the time i am dead the project would still not be finished.

Plus i doubt this is a meeting on oil and more of a meeting on which side Pakistan is taking in the Bahrain rebellion thing :)

Undoubtedly, that will be raised and there will (after some more time) another revision(s) of the deadline for completion and commissioning of the pipeline! :)

Might as well be 2050 if all that is being done till today is to discuss the agreement.

This project is really something, i guess every year we hear that someone has signed on the pipeline agreement, this has been going on for a decade.
It seems more like a petition is being filed and everyone needs to sign it.

Till the actual work starts, the honourable minister's words are worthless.

Another half baked claimed by the present government. Without peace in Baluchistan, this agreement does not hold any ground. No real progress on alternative sources of energy is of real concern.

First we promise not to mine the gas, and have pacts/agreements. Now they sell the gas which we could mine out easily. This is politics, the comissions in them. Thanks government of Pakistan, for making us assured, we are gonna import thing at highiest prices when we could easily make them.

I do not understand
