Iran Withdraws Funding to Pakistan for Gas Pipeline Project

It was made clear to Iran that Pakistan is unable to finance the pipe
at first you chinese beloved friends wanted to finance it , they backed off as they love you so much .

then we said we may be able to finance it , but we were not . any prob ?

so they offered to finance it only to back down yesterday with no apparent reason.

the reason is crystal clear !!! WE DONT HAVE MONEY !!! JESUS !

Iran knows it and is trying to make the most out of it....that however is a lesson for us, for the future.

ahh , yeah we are evil !!! we want to bring "pakistan" to its knees lol

pakistan is not our enemy my friend , and we dont care about your money !! your money is as much as the money parents give their child to buy cookie !! its nothing for a country like iran , my fellow .

Now we will look for an alternative funding source, we have no choice other than to carry on with the pipe, due to our energy crisis. Iran knows it and is trying to make the most out of it....that however is a lesson for us, for the future.

We will be very careful in making any further engagement with Iran.

well lets hope this predicament ends soon.....and the deal is revived in a few years when there are no more problems in pakistan .....there should be no bitter feelings b/w both the nations just because of some deal.....we should not forget that pakistan has always supported iran in dire times and the same support was given by iran to pakistan...like brothers

delay and breaking the accord two different things.

get your head checked
dont even get me started that who needs a checkup, everybody can see your comments on this thread.....:lol:
just google or search for a thread for the time of completion of project and then talk......:lol:

nice comment froma sane person ! thank u .

they are some international courts that will decide about it and make the decisions. They are independent courts, and even in the deals which have a lot of money invested in them, they even usually mention that which courts are able to investigate the cases ;)
Then you should start preparing for it.....

Why can't Pakistan get gas from Central Asia?

We've got oil pipelines from Kazakhstan, and gas pipelines from Turkmenistan.

Pakistan is closer to Central Asia than we are, I guess something can be figured out.

Deal isn't dead, we want the pipe, we will find a way to finance it. At worst it will be delayed.

Aeronaut, don't you think such a deal is far too risky. Considering the politics of the Iran-America-Pakistan triangle, the situation could decay very quickly, leading to instability in the resource routes.

Maybe Pakistan would be better served by trying to find alternatives to gas. Pakistan has large coal reserves, and in any case it's very easy to buy coal from anywhere in the world.

Or something like the Three Gorges Dam, which could wipe out your energy shortage with a single project, while helping to control floods at the same time.

The best option would be to connect a pipe FROM xinjiang directly into Pakistan bypassing Afghanistan. It will do the following.

1: Pakistan wont have to be worried about whats coming in Afghanistan just because our pipe is lying in Wakkan Corridor.

2: Pakistan would not have to listen to the US for TAPI.

3: Pakistan would refuse TAPI and India will have to extend it through Turkamanistan to Afghanistan to Iran into a submarine pipeline they are yet to build.

They are also considering a submatine pipeline from Qatar to be mated with the Iranian pipe.

4: Chinese and Pakistani Navy will end up in control of India's 'energy throat' from Gwadar...both oil AND gas.
