Government to meet only rational MQM demands - The Express Tribune

the only demand the government is not agreeing to is RELEASE of MQM workers arrested.

rest monitoring of the operation is agreed upon.

MQM is just pissed that the PM didn't come to 90

Disgruntled MQM breaks off negotiations with govt, wants resignations to be accepted - The Express Tribune

please read the last link i sent where government agreed to all LOGICAL DEMANDS of MQM.

and the current link says MQM is angry because of Nawaz attitude in Karachi and :

The party lamented how the prime minister did not even utter a word about the meeting or that the government wanted to solve genuine grievances of MQM. Nor did the prime minister visit the injured Rashid Godil, a member of the same National Assembly that Nawaz is a part of.

MQM Gotta Go.
Pakistani establishment cannot allow a mafia that operates like a Terror organization, funded via extortion money, controlled by foreign intelligence, headed by mentally unstable person and followed by small group of morally obtuse people to hijack Pakistan's financial hub.

Yes not visiting injured Rasheed Godil by PM they shows their concern and took PM a non serious person as his visit of Karachi finish without say anything proper regarding with MQM resignation. Anyway PM ne ye kiya wo nahi kiya is not a major fact, before Fazlu visit PM mood was different and after that is strange different.

Things are heating up. If this goes onnthen we may see acceptance of mqm resignations leading to relections I. Empty seats which can be taken by other parties if mqm refuses to contest in the elections...

Interesting times ahead.

However mqm is being hasty. Negotiations corridor should always be opened. They may see nawaz attitude as non serious but negotiations should always be present otherwise you start to lose leverage as time passes by.

These are very fair demands, i don't understand why the Government is dragging its foot and not implementing these two fair demands from MQM.

Looks like the Sindh Government is not in favour of an independent monitoring committee. Maybe, the evidences that goes through the eyes of LEA's everyday which exposes PPP corruption, they probably don't want the monitoring committee to see it. I am sure Altaf Bhai and MQM Leadership are kicking themselves in the foot for trusting that Snake Zardari and playing their B Team for so long.

PPP is also worried because they know they will be next. Look how conveniently Zardari left the country.

The government appointed mediator Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Saturday called Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and requested the latter to resume stalled talks, Express News reported.

According to sources, JUI-chief asked Altaf to direct MQM Rabita Committee to resume negotiations from Monday, upon which MQM chief asked said he would respond after consulting with party leaders.

During the telephonic conversation, Fazl advised the government to avoid issuing controversial statements.

In a press statement, the party said that Fazl maintained that as the mediator, he assured the party that not only will the government listen to genuine grievances of MQM, but will also will try to address and remove them.

Following Rehman’s call, the party has started consultations to decide whether to resume the dialogue or remain firm on their decision of not to engage in further talks with the government in Islamabad.

Confirming that the JUI-F chief had reached out to the party, MQM leader Mustafa Azizabadi said Fazl had request Altaf to review party’s decision to abandon talks.

Earlier in the day JUI-F chief, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah contacted MQM leader Farooq Sattar via telephone and urged him to reconsider party’s decision to break off negotiations.

Angry at the cold shoulder treatment meted out to it during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s latest visit to the megalopolis and the continued action against its members, the MQM early on Saturday demanded that its resignations from the Senate, National Assembly and the Sindh Assembly, should be accepted, breaking off negotiations with the government.

On August 12, Lawmakers of MQM in both houses of parliament and the Sindh Assembly tendered their resignations in protest against what they called the party’s ‘victimisation’ at the hands of the security agencies in Karachi and the federal and provincial governments’ ‘blind eye’ towards their grievances.

MQM should not take back resignations and go to public and show the reality of current establishment. Nawaz Sharif should be made to suffer for his Highheadedness and stupidity.

They understand that they are doing things beyond Law(though necessary in some cases) but still they are beyond law so that is why our agencies wants to avoid that at all costs. I think before making an understanding with PMLN MQM needs to approach Rangers COVERTLY and create understanding with Agencies first so that this matter could be solved.

PPP is out of Equation here. They are not capable of questioning or saying anything the real power is rest with LEAs and they are actual in charge of whole thing. The activities of NAB has been taking place due to Raheel Sharif Pressurizing Govt. otherwise PMLN would have dropped that long time ago in favor of Misak-e-Jamhoriyat. The only concern MQM has is are they trying to finish them of or they are trying to finish of Criminals only just like they claim and that is why they are asking for watch over it to make sure that their interest remain Protected while Criminals removed from the Party at the same time.

ISLAMABAD: Days after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had left Karachi for the federal capital without meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders during his day-long visit, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday sought appointment for a meeting between the two sides.

Sources told Geo News that the JUI-F, who has been tasked by the PML-N government to woo MQM leadership to withdraw resignations of their lawmakers, held a telephonic conversation with Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar today.

He apprised Dar about his recent telephonic conversation with MQM chief Altaf Hussain over the matter. Maulana Fazl also sought the PM’s first available time-slot to hold a meeting with MQM delegation.

Ishaq Dar assured the JUI-F chief that the government was ready to remove all ‘legitimate reservations’ of MQM.

Maulana Fazl had assured the MQM leadership of a meeting with the premier to resolve the issue when he visited Karachi last week on the same day when MQM’s Rashid Godil was attacked in the city.

The JUI-F chief is expected to reach Islamabad from Dera Ismail Khan later tonight.

MQM leadership is of the opinion that the government did not value the role of Maulana Fazl as mediator and therefore, the latter need not bother any more about making further efforts in this regard.

The party also regretted that Prime Minister Sharif did not take time out to visit Godil, who suffered multiple bullet wounds after coming under an armed attack last week.

Who cares about terrorist organisation
Designated terrorist organization[edit]
In 2006, the Federal Court of Canada declared the MQM as a terrorist organization,
not allowing party members to visit and stay in Canada,
[51] and considered it a serious security threat to Canada.
The Court said the MQM is engaged in the harassment of opponents
and has used the proceeds of crime to fund the party.[52][53][54]
MQM has been getting the funds from India to continue its activities in Karachi.
[55] Tariq Mir, MQM's senior member exposed the Indian funding to MQM in an
interview with British police. India and MQM chief claim the allegations are false.[56]
The London Met Police stated that no such documents were part of its official record.[57]
