The thread starter did not ask for a discussion on atheism or agnosticism, all he did was ask if there were others who shared his beliefs. If you don't share his beliefs, don't respond.

In the context of Pakistan, given that it is a largely conservative Muslim country, such a thread is not out of place since many Pakistanis do not openly identify themselves as 'atheist/agnostic' and this thread could be used for them to exchange views and socialize.

I have no problem of anyone being an atheist... I share good relationships with many atheists as long as they do not start-giving hate speech about religions. Personal beliefs should always be honored

Lets say if tomorrow a member creates a thread saying he follows the conservative way of life so who among PDF'ians are the conservative Muslims, Christian or Hindus.

The thread will be closed immediately isn't it...

well it would be better to stop pretending and tell reality to parents because it is better to be nonmuslim then a munafiq(hypocrite or one who pretends to be MUSLIM)
Cos MUSLIM is some one who believes in ALLAH PAK and if you don,t then why to pretend before parents.

Actually it's not. I love my parents a lot, and want them to stay happy with me. By coming out as an agnostic, I'll cause emotional pain to my parents and they will be really hurt. The reason they won't be happy is because they'll fear that I'll go to hell, and they'll also feel guilty about themselves thinking that they were not able to be good parents. It's best to keep quiet about my agnosticism, and let my parents think that I'm Muslim.

I would say depends on your situation. But as you said, you don't want to hurt their feelings, so being closet agnostic is better. I guess once you are in this journey, you will become atheist eventually. I did.
Being atheist should not be a big deal but seeing that so many things happening in the world due to religion, it is difficult to be indifferent.
