Iranian cars ... Gonna buy if available?

Yes I did notice that also : If the trucks are indeed Scania then it is similar case to Iran supplying Russia with Siemens Gas turbines which were made under license in Iran..Legally what happens to License agreements when a company leave a country due sanctions is not known..

Siemens left Iran after Trump sanctions ,,,but MAPNA still produces and exports Siemens turbines ..Is license and IP now void and parts can be copied with no legal consequence..Same will apply to SCANA license..Trucks can be copied with no legal consequence and assembly lines set up in Russia which is completely sanctions by Europe.. Leaving a country because of a third party santins (US) is not a Legal excuse..so If siemens left Iran due to US (not UN) sanctions it was illegal act also.

Usually companies maintain ownership of their IP no matter what. I seriously doubt what Iran is doing has any legal basis but who's going to enforce it?

And if they left the factory there with all the machines inside, who's going to stop you from using them?

What more can they do? Put more sanctions?

Iran’s second largest carmaker Saipa is to start delivering its first PHEV to buyers in Iran until March.
Iran’s second largest carmaker Saipa says its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) will hit the market in the calendar year to late March 2024.
Saipa’s CEO Mohammad Ali Teymouri said on Saturday that delivering a first batch of PHEVs to buyers in the Iranian market will enable the company to develop a hybrid version of its popular model, Arya.
Teymouri’s statement comes some five years after Saipa unveiled a prototype of its first PHEV under the brand name of Saina EV. The company announced at the time that the car was a joint project between Saipa and Iran’s Khajeh Nasir University of Technology.
That comes as Saipa’s rival the IKCO, which is Iran’s largest carmaker in terms of output, had announced plans for commercial launch of its all-electric model Tara EV this year. The company has also unveiled Electric RANA for delivering to buyers in the Iranian market.
US sanctions imposed on Iran since 2018 has led to growth in Iran’s home-grown automotive industry as carmakers have benefitted from a larger share of the domestic market as well as a major increase in supply of steel and other raw materials from local plants.
Government figures show vehicle output in Iran rose by nearly 40% year on year in the calendar year to late March

Not visually appealing but definitely on the right track to combat air pollution in iran and Tehran especially from what I read.

Leaving a country because of a third party santins (US) is not a Legal excuse..so If siemens left Iran due to US (not UN) sanctions it was illegal act also.
It depends what the parties negotiated in their contracts. Regardless, the EU's Blocking Regulation makes it illegal for EU persons to terminate their dealings with Iran in order to comply with specified unilateral US sanctions (subject to an approval process for exceptional circumstances). The problem is it is very hard to prove that a company stopped dealing with Iran because of US sanctions (as opposed, for example, to general commercial reasons). Also, the EU Member States showed no political will in actually enforcing the Blocking Regulation, with 0 prosecutions against companies who may be in breach.

SAIPA plans to unveil two engines in the current fiscal year (started March 21) in cooperation with Mega Motor Company, according to the CEO of SAIPA Group.
"In addition to SAIPA Research Center, which designs cars and machinery with the latest engineering knowhow, Mega Motor Company, which is active in the field of engines, is one of the research and development hubs of this center," Mohammad Ali Teymouri added.
"M15 Plus engine will be the first to be released this year. It is currently undergoing tests and calibration, and will reduce the fuel consumption of vehicles by 1 liter per 100 kilometers. The production line of a new engine called M16 will also be launched," he was quoted as saying by Donyaye Khodro.
"The production line of this engine had been unused for a long time because foreign companies working on it had abandoned the project and left. Currently, its software has been designed and developed by domestic engineers, and its production will be resumed in the 11th fiscal month [Jan. 21-Feb. 19, 2023].”

The minute the sanctions are gone and the Iranians get unobstructed access to foreign automobiles, all of the "Iranian made" cars are pretty much history. Couple of years ago, when it looked like the Western-imposed sanctions are coming to an end, the Iranians had plans to import basically everything from abroad.

Cars, wind turbines, medical equipment - simply everything you can imagine and mostly products that are acutally available on the very shielded and protected domestic market.

This is not very suprising, though. The same thing happened to Eastern Germany and the entire Eastern European block.

Your cars, machines and products are only competitive as long as their is no other option on the domestic market.

The regime has destroyed Iran, morally and physically. Some things you may see, other horrific changes are awaiting.

i want a jeep but they won't register the car for you
so no you can't get any car you like , you can buy the car and bring it to iran but you had to take it out of the country in 6 month

importing a car needs special "Car importeur card" thats the same everywhere you go, importing cars is not easy as a Private person.

but you can buy any car brand you want at car dealerships.

maybe the Jeep model you want is currently not available here because jeeps are not popular cars anyway here.

this is the largest online car "Bourse" for iran for new and second hand vehicles just write the brand you want in the search section on the top and you find it.

the big popular brands like Toyota,Benz and so on you will find also 2022-2023 models.


But yea Jeep cars i see are only a few and mostly older models, there is literly no market for Jeep cars in iran man, when there is no demand, they are no cars.


there is low demand for american made cars in Iran and also our government doesnt like them to be imported in large numbers.

thats why you can still see sometimes corvettes like this one here on sale





but the demand for american cars is low, corvettes are nice though.


in 2023

in tehran most cars i see are Iranian.

followed by Korean and Chinese cars,

4th place are Japanese brands.

People prefer asian brands they are more reliable then western cars and in last years Korean and Chinese cars are coming very close to japanese cars in terms of reliability

Interesting Motor. Its like the 2.0 litre Alfa Romeo 145 Quadrifoglio i had in the 90s and what i tuned with Novitec Turbo, suspension ect.. Will there be tuning kits?
