No matter what is your position / opinion on Iran , there is a lesson here.

This is the result of US military underestimating the other side's capability. If you are familiar with western mainstream media reporting, they all tout the US military and technology prowess as the best in the world and no other country can match it. These MSM are focused on propaganda to the western citizen and lulling them with the superiority of western tech.

BUT

Since 1991 there are many advances in radar technologies and other electronic warfare technology that are nowadays achievable buy Russians and Chinese and Iraninan scientiest. Stealth dont work against modern radars and the heyday of stealth fighters entering combat zone unprotected / unescorted is suicide. This is one reason why the F35 have so many problem and opponents, it is because stealth are not the magic silver bullet it once was.

Underestimating enemy is stupid and deadly. Historically , for US military , their underestimation of the vietnamese army and WILL TO FIGHT lead to their humiliation and defeat. No picture is better than the photo of helicopter evacuating civilians from saigon US embassy. After Vietnam, the US military only dared to take on weak and unorganized enemy like Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Panama.. But these victories over weak enemies inflate the westerner's ego and made them think they can take on the world and won.

Time will tell that in the future , there will be another great defeat to US military when they initiate war against an enemy that can fight back and even bring the war on the US soil. I predict these will happen :
- If US dared to attack iran , o nly a foolish thinking would say that iran wont hit targets inside US and attack Gulf States + mine hormuz strait and thus destroy the world economy by raising the oil price so high that US citizens will learn how to walk again instead of driving everywhere..
- if US dared to attack Russia by proxy (just as it is planning to do in Ukraine crisis) , it will be in shock when russia also took the fight on US soil / US border area / US bases all around the world using someone else's hand.
- The US over reliance on GPS will be their undoing when Russia / China attacked their satellite constellation. No matter how many backup GPS satellite , Russia and China got the means to nullify this US Advantage.. Without GPS and Communication Satellite, the US effectively Blind and open to nuke strike.
- If US tried to play the Nuke First Strike card, dont be suprised if massive first strike will be launched from Russia and China toward US in the near future. When the EU-Russia-China economic link is built and China have no need for US anymore, it is certain that US Empire will lash out in its dying breath and just like a bully with no real power it will be destroyed.

US alone has 35,000 troops and nearly 40 ships deployed in the region. It will be completely foolish to provoke them. There is no shortage cheer leaders for war against Iran in the region. Deterrence through regional alliance with Iraq-Syria and others is a necessity but provocation is not. Any provocation on part of Iran would allow regional enemies to destroy it's military capabilities.
