We would handycap the program if we involve any more suppliers. It would make it much harder for exports. The Chinese are working their nuts off to get their AESAs working. We should join that effort.
From KSA, we should rather try to broker the M2k-9 deal.
We let China develop AESA for JF-17 for future upgrade and export, but we should build hi-lo version of JF-17s so we have more potent options available to handle large quality fleet of IAF, hi end JF-17 can be made just for PAF and this way PAF can mix them with low end ones so IAF will never know what version / capability JF-17 they will be facing. Hi end JF-17 is also needed to handle IN+IAF combined threat from sea and sindh border, if people want to see KSA helping us buy jets then we should ask them to help get EFTs not M2K9s they are not going to fight a major war soon and they are getting more EFTs we can ask them to provide at least 40 birds which they already have if they are so generous, maintaining EFTs will be much easier then M2K9s.
