once the engine is ready. The A-6 style "V" shaped air-intakes are believed to provide smooth air flow to the engine at high AoA.

just a correction .... KLJ-7 (V2) 110 KM for target size of 3m2

More like 8 million deal for potentially 12 billion deal.

Perhaps your emphasis is overshadowed by the 'fact' that the 'potential' deal is still sort of 'nowhere'! That precisely means a loss of USD 8+ Billion, 5 years ago, rather then any gain 5 years on!

.
I would love to see the hysteria that will overcome the Indians when the Chinese start selling the Pakistanis technology on a par with anything that Indians can buy.

That day is very near now.

Just tell me how did you reach that magical figure of 8 billion?

Only if wishes were horses.

From the same wikileak source:

"Earlier, one of France's leading newspapers, Le Monde had reported that the Sarkozy administration had decided to suspend sales of electronics and missiles, under the first part of a six billion euro deal signed with Islamabad, heeding an Indian request."

The whole value of JF17 project in not 8 billion. Plus take it unit wise. If we assume that the deal was for 150 planes (current order of JF17), it sits to be 40 million Euro per piece.

Each JF-17 costs 20 million dollars and so it is ridiculous to think the Pakistanis would spend 50 million dollars per plane to upgrade with French radar, electronics and missiles.

The true figure would be around 10 million dollars per plane

Dude, use some common sense!

Its you who is lacking common sense. I have simply used the figures from the report and divided them by total current orders for JF17. Let the person I have quoted respond. You have failed to understand the discussion.

Very interesting artcile on PAF approach for Mica and french radar intergration into block one
The Global Intelligence Files - INDIA/FRANCE/PAKISTAN/MIL- India clears Mirage upgrade deal, Paris turns down Pak news
Seems the indians pressured the french to pull the plug on this
I assumed it was financial reasons only.
Also intresting note on PL12 and the chinease fire and control; radar being too limited to exploit the missles full range
There a big thread on the UAE mirages in here and this news will hopefully give a very good counter argument on to why french weapons are not only very expensive but hard to acquire due to politics.
PAF might be better sticking with uncle sam & chinease

Thank you for confirming that, I was opposing M2K9s purchase due to that reason and some people did not accepted that France will not provide support for those as IAF's MMRCA deal is near to be finalized.

I edited my reply dude as I did not read enough posts and so agreeing with you now.

You replied too quickly.

Well at least we agree on someting for once now.

But one thing which many Indians don't understand is that Pakistan can get avionics for JF-17 from other western options as Selex Galileo is ready to sell AESA radars and have long relationship with PAF, the issue is money.

It will fits in JF-17 well.

Does this company makes the radar small enough to fit JF17?
