The Indian Cabinet Committee on Security cleared a deal where the Indian Army would buy 10,000 Russian-origin Konkurs-M anti-tank guided missiles, PTI said. The deal is valued at $223 million, according to the agency.

The missiles would be used for the Mechanised Infantry and Infantry battalions of the Army, sources told PTI. The Konkurs-M will be used to augment the anti-tank arsenal in the army, PTI cited the sources as saying.

guess a quick gap filling move by Indian army!

Pakistan makes its own ANZA 1 and ANZA 2. In Kargil war they were quite effective in bringing down IAF aircrafts. But India probably were not capable enough to make their own.

Lets hope so, because quick and Indian army normally doesn't fit. :)

dude, it seems this time its serious and Indian govmt/MOD is acting based on the feedback received from ex Army Chief! ...Just look at last couple of mid size tickets, all of them fall under the category of deterrence/offensive capability of Army...

The problem is, it was always irregularities and briberies in IA, that caused all the scrapping of competitions and delays. So them complaining by MoD is hardly logical, but I do hope MoD takes several IA deals in their own hand now and fix them.

To keep spoiled brat russia happy after american heavy lift helicopter won....

who does india thinks will attack them with 10,000 tanks...lol
or is it a safe measure, one hit out of 100

Stockpiling weapons is a coward approach. Moreover, they are just wasting money as they haven't fought with anyone in years.

Armies stockpile weapons, if they feel threatened. As far as India is concerned, i thought your foreign minister before leaving said that China and Pakistan issues are stable. I think i'll bring back my opinion about your coward approach as you fail to comprehend

Is it because Javelin did not work out?

another reality check slapped hard on the face of so-called 'state-of-art' Nag missile by DRDO``lol
Nag isn't ment to be man portable, you are comparing a different class of missiles....
