F-15SA First Taxi Test

LOL! Americans/Brits will obviously gloat for your gullible nation.Afterall, they need money.

Do you actually believe that RSAF's pilots and organizational abilities are as superior as German pilots?

Also, Arabs, specially Saudis, are known for unprofessional attitude. No strict military discipline, people get into military because of their relations to "royal" family and extended royal family...strict military merit is not applied and so on...

That is just bull$hit and you know it. Our pilots are some of the best there is. All that hogwash is empty defaming.

Any proof?

We have PAF instructors who trained arab pilots previously. They all know how "great" your pilots really were...

Actually you are the one doing the accusations not me, so you are the one who has to bring proof. A real war time proof of Saudi pilot incompetency and not a guy heard from another guy article or blog.

Our pilots took part in the most daring and most dangerous sorties in the Gulf War.

JP233 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Deployment was rather frightening for the flight crew, since it required the aircraft to fly low, straight and level over an enemy airfield, and when over the runway the pods would dispense their payload. During the Gulf War it was widely reported in the popular press that Tornados were shot down by AAA fire and MANPADS during delivery of the JP233 munition,[2] but in fact none of the losses occurred during the attack phase of a JP233 mission. Only one aircraft was lost carrying the JP233 munition when Tornado ZA392 crashed into the ground 16*km (9.9*mi) after delivering the weapon at low level; enemy fire was not reported and it was believed that this was an incident of controlled flight into terrain.[3]
What did alarm the crews of British and Saudi Arabian Tornados using JP233 however was that the aircraft was brightly illuminated at night by the exploding munitions.[4] Attacks using JP233 were suspended six days into the Gulf War, as the Iraqi Air Force was effectively flying no missions.
With the increasing availability of standoff attack munitions capable of the same mission with little risk to the flight crew and aircraft, and the British entry into the Land Mines Treaty (which declares the HB-876 illegal), the JP233 has been withdrawn from service."

I used to believe like you did @AUz , and that only lately did our Pilots become good, but further reading and informations revealed that they have always been good, only now they are even more so than ever before.

Nice birds, nice specs. Just one thing, aren't they a tad overpriced? I'm not sure what is their EXACT unit price, however, I remember it to be very close to F35. I mean, wouldn't it be better to go for the other platform in a couple years time, as I do not see any immediate or near term danger to SA.

Mate, their new generation is trained pretty good. At least the ones manning these fighters.

The full package priced at 29.4 billion $. You can't really tell how much each bird cost. But don't forget we'll acquiring new advanced technologies that need training, for example, an Aasa radar, which we never had on the F15 before. Fly-By-Wire and many many other equipment. Let alone thousands of missiles and bombs and spare parts, TOT's, building facilities. Part of the deal will be invested in OFFSET. Besides, you really need to buy to shut up the jewish lobby.

It is very clear that the RSAF is getting a complete overhaul from top to bottom recently. In the past it was specialized jets for specialized missions. For example the F-15Cs for Air Supperiority, The Tornadoes for Air to Ground, and the F-5 for light bombing and Recon.

Now the Air Force has shuffled all of its previous ways and thrown it out of the window, the Multi-role is the name of the game, The new F-15SAs are a force to be reckoned with in both Air-Air and Air-Ground and is without a doubt the most potent fighter in the entire region, The Typhoon is a nightmare to any enemy especially the Tranch 3As we are getting which will render all the Region's Air Forces automatically obsolete. The Tornadoes are going to be phased out soon, and will be replaced with something else, and we already know that there are negotiations for the F-35 for about 120 of them but we are waiting for the program to mature and the prices go down.

However the Jet that will replace the Tornadoes is still a mystery, prior to the Syrian Crisis Saudi Air Force Engineers and pilots attended every Pak-Fa milestone, which was signaling it but now the focus has shifted to the F-35. So we know it is going to be a 5th Gen but which one is still a mystery.

Now you can use your imagination of what an Air Force with F-15SAs, Typhoons and F-35s can do.

And about Danger, we live in the Middle East, that is a danger on itself right there.

The entire F-15 contract is worth 11.2 billion $ only, the other is going to the 70 Apaches, 72 BlackHawks, 36 Little Birds and training and munition.

We were given AMRAAM 120C-5 and the Saudis are being given 120C-7. That's where money talks and BS walks.

On topic a hell of a plane and definitely will give Iranians and the Israels a headache.

Not to mention the recent contract with AEC to put our own equipment in the AMRAAM missiles :yahoo:

.
