Could Ranjeet Singh's statue in Lahore be torn down like the statues of tyrants in the West?

You're right. He should be viewed in context, as should all these "tyrants" whose statues are being threatened.
Ranjit should probably stay. Churchill is debatable.

Gandhi has to go because he simply indulged in chanakiya, pure and simple. He pretended to be all ascetic and non-aggressive, yet underneath this facade designed purely to lick the boots of white folks, he had a terrifying opinion on blacks. Gandhi was a product of an oppressed nation and was educated. He had no excuse to be this way, and his only reason to behave as a class A house n#!@er was to dupe white people. Instead If fighting against the colonialists through sword or through pen/orator, he ultimately relied on swarms of people sitting down and acting as human ballast to stop them in their tracks. All the while, he wasn't a genuine hippy or peacenik in the slightest - he thoroughly believed in the superiority of some over others.

Gandhi's statues should go.
Gandhi was a British agent and brought from South Africa by British to sabotage Indian freedom struggle. See link.

Pakistanis are nothing if not consistently hypocritical. These will be the same people who will cry the loudest if India renames anything that carries the Mughal name.

The only hypocrite is an Indian like you who is consistently breaking Modi's holy rules by interacting on a Pakistani defence forum. Chi paapi insaan!

exposes you people how much you hate non muslims

Ranjeet singh was indeed a tyrant, just read about his bloodbath in Peshawar at the hands of an italian governor, but then again which king was not?

regards

Sikh[edit]
Ranjit Singh invaded Peshawar in 1818 but soon lost it to the Afghans.[79] Following the Sikh victory against Azim Khan at the Battle of Nowshera in March 1823, Ranjit Singh captured Peshawar.[79] By 1830, Peshawar's economy was noted by Scottish explorer Alexander Burnes to have sharply declined,[77] with Ranjit Singh's forces having destroyed the city's palace and agricultural fields.[77]

Much of Peshawar's caravan trade from Kabul ceased on account of skirmishes between Afghan and Sikh forces,[77] as well as a punitive tax levied on merchants by Ranjit Singh's forces.[77] Singh's government also required Peshawar to forfeit much of its leftover agricultural output to the Sikhs as tribute,[77] while agriculture was further decimated by a collapse of the dried fruit market in north India.[77] Singh appointed Neapolitan mercenary Paolo Avitabile as administrator of Peshawar, who is remembered for having unleashed a reign of terror. His time in Peshawar is known as a time of "gallows and gibbets." The city's famous Mahabat Khan, built in 1630 in the Jeweler's Bazaar, was badly damaged and desecrated by the Sikh conquerors.[80]

The Sikh Empire formally annexed Peshawar in 1834 following advances from the armies of Hari Singh Nalwa[79]—bringing the city under direct control of the Sikh Empire's Lahore Durbar.[79] An 1835 attempt by Dost Muhammad Khan to re-occupy the city failed when his army refused to engage in combat with the Dal Khalsa.[79] Sikh settlers from Punjab were settled in the city during Sikh rule. The city's only remaining Gurdwaras were built by Hari Singh Nalwa to accommodate the newly-settle Sikhs.[81] The Sikhs also rebuilt the Bala Hissar fort during their occupation of the city.[78]

That he was a racist and arguably a paedophile are known. Whether he was a "British agent" or not, I don't know. Not everyone against hindutva influence is automatically a "British agent", just like Pakistanis and the Muslim League were clearly not British agents. This is the sort of siege mentality delusional politics that RSS specialise in. I have no desire to defend RSS, despite my criticism of Gandhi.

someone needs to keep a check on fawaad chaudhary and how he is providing fuel to PTM by his pro ranjeet singh rheotoric.

the matter is solely provincial.

PTI seems to boast alot about Punjab conquests. Maybe Urban lahoris miss Ranjeet.

Atleast in Sindh they be quiet about every and anything.

Lol no one takes your opinion on Gandhi seriously. He was one of the major leaders of the Independence movement and is even now respected across the world. You should really watch the movie Gandhi produced and directed by Richard Attenborough and starring Ben Kingsley to gain some more knowledge even if you are not able to read his book called 'My Experiments With Truth'. The movie 'Gandhi' was nominated for the Academy Awards in 11 categories and won 8 of them.
