At war first targets are airports and airbases. Enemy first would hit your airports. If you have a lot of mobile airbases, how they could find you?
Why dont airforces pay attention RATO takeoff and Vertical landing aircrafts as Harriers?

You could built mobile air bases from containers which loaded AV-8 Harriers RATO capability.
Harriers spend most of their fuel when they are taking off. Rocket Assisted Launch would give Harrier more range and hidden launch opportunity.
Harriers can turn back mobile base vertically.They can land onto containers. Noone could recognize.

For this conventional aircrafts Rocket Assisted Take Off not problem, but problem is landing. They cant land vertically. They need airports.
But AV-8 or Harriers dont need airports, they can land vertically. If AV-8 takes off with RATO , enemies would be surprized.

Airbus Files Patent For Unusual Hybrid Vertical Takeoff Aircraft

The aircraft manufacturer filed a patent for an aircraft capable of vertical takeoff that can transition to horizontal flight. The plane uses four rotors to supply that vertical lift, powered by independent electric motors. Energy for these motors would be provided by batteries and a generator connected to an internal combustion engine, that will also power a forward-facing propellor that will pull the aircraft through the air once it transitions to horizontal flight. The patent description is specific about the fact that the vertical lift rotors can be stowed inside pylons during forward flight. Each pylon will house two rotor assemblies each consisting of two rotor blades.

Boeing shows new concept for next generation US Air Force Fighter

The tail-less airframe, thin swept wings and conformal shaping suggest a stealthy, penetrating aircraft that may be able to fly supersonic. The silhouette of a pilot inside the cockpit indicates Boeing is banking on the Air Force sticking with at least an optionally manned platform for the future capability.

Boeing’s new vision comes as the Air Force begins to solidify a plan for the next generation of air superiority, alternatively called “sixth-generation fighter,” “next-generation air dominance,” F-X,” and most recently “Penetrating Counterair” (PCA)
