Engines used in different fighters

Why bring India into this .We are not copier like you do:angry::hitwall::sick:

This doesn't do with copy. If you bother to read the previous post. The method to compose in metallurgy is all self effort and patent. Which means doing or devise their own way to get the require material. WS-10 is indeed a intellect property of china through it's own effort and years of development. That is why china is able to overhaul many parts of AL-31FN engine with extended life time but is not able to RE it. Unless the russia totally provide all the know how.

Look at turkey, producing engine parts for American for such a long time but until now still not able to produce a single indigenous engine of their own. Becos producing parts and totally understNd the know how is different. And crucial part like engine blade might be withheld by Americans.

No. If you have made some progress in nanotech you can actually RE metallurgical processes.
Actually He was trying to bash India Indeed.

No - he just mentioned the kaveri in the context, that it's taking such a long time because processes need to be perfected. And you responded with a direct insult.

The Chinese did not have to get an engine manufacturer with decades of experience, like say France, to jump in and sort out their stuff for them. "Copying" is so very bad. But when one can't do that, one can always pay others enormous amounts of money to manufacture an indigenous engine for us.

Are these facts wrong? If not, the perspective you were presenting - bashing the Chinese for "copying", but praising the Indian effort, is illogical and incorrect.

If an Indian member wants to do some discussion with chinese member they respond in the same way as I did.
If it were a Thread about Kaveri engine and any member would have talked about chinese engine, chinese( + Pakistani) member make the thread a troll thread.

I just wanted to let them know that We are not sane.(BTW I have not made any Troll Post here in This Thread:D)

NO.. Indian diplomacy on that front failed since the RD-93 is sold first to China.. then to us.
And the Russians do not wish to offend China.

Klimov RD-93

A variant used to power the JF-17 / FC-1. According to JF-17.com "The most significant difference being the repositioning of the gearbox along the bottom of the engine casing." The Klimov poster at Zhuhai 2010 airshow gave the thrust of the engine to be up to 98kN [5].

RD-33 family

2100054601

BASIC INFORMATION

The RD-33 turbojet twin-shaft engine with afterburner was developed in 1985 to power the MiG-29 front-line light fighter.

PRODUCT QUALITY

Engineering excellence

The engine features a modular design, which means that individual parts, units and modules can be repaired or replaced in the field.

Reliability

The RD-33’s excellent gas flow stability against ambient disturbances, including the firing of onboard weapons, dramatically facilitates control of the aircraft. These engines also offer a high rate of thrust increase and, therefore, aircraft acceleration, which is especially critical for today’s jet fighters.

Universal platform

The RD-33 engine family includes the following versions:

> RD-33 series series 3, an engine with a longer service life;
> RD-33B/NB, an engine without the afterburner for various types of aircraft;
> SMR-95, an engine for upgrading foreign 2nd and 3rd generation jet fighters;
> RD-93, a version for the FC-1 airplane;.
> RD-33MK (Sea Wasp), an improved version of RD-33 for new MiG-35 jet fighters and MiG29K shipborne fighters.

An RD-33 version with a thrust vectoring nozzle (TVN) is also available. New engines of the RD-33 family include BARK digital monitoring and control systems. Repair and maintenance of RD-33 engines take advantage of an information and diagnostics system (IDS).

FACTS

> The most mass-produced jet engine in its class
> Adopted by the military in 25 countries as a component of MiG-29 fighters
> Employed to power the unique super-maneuverable MiG-29OVT fighter
> Installed of various models of the MiG-29 fighter family
> Developed in 1985
> Thrust class - 8000-9000 kgf

India Joins the Jet Engine Constructors Club

September 12, 2006: India has taken another step to improve its ability to produce aircraft engines. India will now build the Russian RD-33 jet engine under license. While many Russian parts will be used, this deal will enable India, like China, to work its way into the exclusive club of nations capable of building jet engines. Russia will make $250 million out of this deal.

The RD-33 is a Cold War era design, created to power the MiG-29 fighter. But since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Klimov, the manufacturer, has greatly improved the RD-33, and now the engine is basically built to Western standards. That, for example, can be seen in the 4,000 hour service life of the engine. At the end of the Cold War, RD-33 engines were lucky to last half that, and have far more reliability problems along the way.

Weighing 1.1 tons, the engine generates up to 20,000 pounds of thrust. The engine can be used in other fighters, like the French Mirage. India has made similar deals to produce other Russian jet engines, but the RD-33 is the most complex engine design so far to be built in India.

Most reliable engines are made in USA.
Russian engines have max 6000 hour lifetime.
Chinese engines worst , thats why Chinese dont use own engines.
