China pays 280K people to boost its Web image

We don't but it does demonstrate a certain lack of logical thinking behind people who think we are paid propagandists. Half of us are from over seas and the other half are University students or engineers etc. How well can these "position pay" that we'd be tempted into doing "the job of improving China's image" besides, I personally just make people here mad at me and pissed off at Chinese people in general (because they'll more than likely generalize).

I could care less about they think, I tried when I first got here but some people...

Complain about this to CNN why all of a sudden all Chinese ran after the life of OP. This is not his personal opinion but CNN came out with it probably with lots of research.

Web Ink Now: The US Air Force: Armed with social media

The US calls it "preventing misinformation".

"What was most interesting is that with Capt. Faggard leading the way, the Air Force employs 330,000 communicators!"

All the site links you posted above are literally unknown but the article that OP posted appeared in widely read and respected Newspaper. Try getting better sources to make your point.

Thanks!

Oh f off, like this ignorant opinion was espoused here by the various Indian troll that infest this forum, long before this article came out.

Also if you actually can read, you'd notice I'd addressed my concerns to this forum specifically.

Damn you'd think that China, being such a populous country, could hire more people than just the U.S. Air Force.

And you surely will believe it even if the news appeared in some unknown website written by god knows who but if it is for China and even if the news is in CNN/BBC etc etc all becomes BS for you guys. That's funny!

Come on now, you know your a memeber of the 50 cent club ;)

joking aside though.......most major countries have paid people that patrol the internet and post. It's in their interest to do so and China is no different.

The posting is mostly directed to the inside. The government could seriously care less about English forums. You can tell who these people are. Like when the Foxxcon suicides occured, some people were talking about the huge contribution Foxxcon made to the economy!!! We all suspected they were either 50 cent hired by Shenzhen, or Foxxcon employees.

The US Air Force on the other hand seems to be aiming outwards.

sorry don't buy it, we see all the time the Chinese Government being extra sensetive about certian topics even on the outside. the latest being the nobel prize award. Then there is always Tibet, falun gong, Taiwan, ect. All things that China tries to influence world perception on.

China doesn't need to influence ordinary citizens in other countries because they're powerless. I'll give you 1 million USD if your vote matters and the US recognizes taiwan by 2014. But we all know it doesn't, and the US isn't going to do that. I'll also eat my keyboard if the US denies that Tibet is a part of China within that same time. But we all know your voice doesn't mean jack sh*t to the Wall Street regime.

The USAF knows, however, that while citizens cannot make a positive contribution and make specific decisions, they can definitely destabilize their countries. That's why the USAF Psychops is actively using propaganda not only against strategic rivals like Russia, China and India, but also using propaganda tools to control "allied" governments such as South Korea. Anyone who goes against the US will meet a fate like President Roh Myu Hyun.
