Maybe China knows how to spend its money wisely? I don't like how my "conservative" government is sending $5M when simultaneously reducing spending on pretty much every government service in Canada. I understand the US democrats doing it because they're the "big spending" party...but we elected this party on the mandate to reduce our deficit.

Considering our economy is 1/10th the size of the states, we should've sent 3M at most.

Also, part of the amount the US donated is basically China's donation consider how the US government just had to raise the debt ceiling (again) just to meet its budget.

Another thing is...the Philippines gets a natural disaster every few years but the donations never goes toward improving the infrastructure so that it won't happen again. Most of the money just disappear into corrupted official's pocket, the remaining bit goes toward some small relief and the infrastructure gets rebuilt into the same shoddy state as before...waiting for another disaster to happen.

Where will that money come from? have the Fed finally agreed to let the Germans review its Gold assets? What's up with the debt ceiling? and what's with the US federal government shutdown?
