So next question is, are we talking about a multirole fighter like the f35 ore intercepter like the f22?

My understanding is, and any more informed member please correct me if I'm wrong, that the TF/X is envisioned to be an air to air interceptor. Whether it will perform at the same or similar levels of F-22 I don't know and I can never predict. I do hope though that it will be one of the most potent in its class thus giving potential enemies something to think about if they are tempted to challenge the TurAF in the skies

The WS-13X tested on Fc-31 v2 has more thrust than EJ200 and there is no TVC in euro fighter. Even China don't export the best subsystem, it still superior to rest of the others except F-22 which solely used by USAF only and J-20 used by PLAAF. You see F-35 if inferior by your standard is still well sought by many countries. Same as FC-31 V2. You seriously Turkey can build a 5th gen fighter better than US and China? I give an example. Our export KJL-7A AESA has more than 1800 modules and which export AESA can beat that? Not even the one
on F-35 can better it.

EJ-200 is superior in terms of tech, quality and service life and TVC is available if vendor want, please google it, PAF should join project which will be frontline fighter of a NATO member country instead of buying export varient which currently no one wants, what tech is used is also important not just 1800 module in AESA radar.

For TFX EJ-230 project was also offered.

My opinion on the AESA radar is well known on this forum. It is too early to tell if this UK-Turkey deal will come thru. But since this is a Turkish project, Turkey had better insists on the AESA radar system and budget for it.

Looky here...Comparing the old radar technology against the current AESA radar technology is like moving from the Model-T to the GT-40. It is that great of a difference.

China current advance technology advancement and powerful industries is not result of TOT from Russian or espionage from western secret. It's from long term wisdom planning and billions of dollars pumping in by CCP to update industries, education and technology. Its takes a colossal effort and superpower level to achieve that.

Let me give you an example. Do you really think China space advancement is result of ToT from from Russian space agency? What they transfer from Soyuz capsule are basically empty shelf with no subsystem while seeking billions of dollars for that. Rest of the 90% including the all critical component are all result of Chinese effort.

We are trying to make our own AESA, our own subsystems, missiles, EW equipment.

We cant make our own engine(even China which is a industrial powerhouse is struggling), and we need experience on creating a new fighter from scratch from an experienced company(BAE) so it all dont go to waste and also most likely we will get a Rolls Royce engine.

If all we did was get UK company to do everything then there is abosultely no point in making one/trying to make a fighter jet.

I know about your views on AESA tech, but I requested opinion on western AESA and EJ200 comparison with Chinese counter part? Which way Pakistan should take for getting 5th gen plane Turkish or Chinese or Domestic project with help from China, Turkey, South Africa, Ukraine / Russia??
