Ukraine is offering 6TD3 engine for Altay?

Türkiye'nin milli imkanlarla tasarlayıp ürettiği Altay Ana Muharebe Tankı için aranan destek bulundu. Türkiye'de TUMOSAN firmasının bir yıllık çalışmadan sonra sözleşme karşılıklı fesh edilmişti. Firma, Avusturya'dan alınacak teknoloji desteğine politik engel geldiğini acıklamıştı. Bu açıklama ile tankın motoru için belirsizlik süreci başlamıştı. Ukrayna'nın savunma firmalarından sorumlu devlet kurumu UkrOboronProm Genel Müdürü Roman Romanov, bu konuda yaşanan son gelişmeyi C4Defence'e anlattı. Romanov, Başbakan Binali Yıldırım'ın davetlisi olarak 14 Mart tarihine Ankara'yı ziyaret eden Ukrayna Başbakanı Vladimir Groysman'ın temaslarında konunun gündeme geldiginı açıkladı. Romanov, iki başbakanın tank motoru konusunda Işbirliği ön anlaması (Memorandum of Understanding/MoU) imzalandığını kaydetti. Ukrayna, bu anlaşma ile 6TD3 motorunu öneriyor. Romanov, motor için talep edilen güce ilişkin bilginin paylaşılmasını beklediklerini kaydetti. Konunun teknik açıdan sorunlu olmadığını, politıkacıların istekli olmasının yeterli olduğunu kaydeden Romanov, istekli olma ölçüsünün projeye ayrılan bütçeyle ilgili olduğunu ifade etti. Romanov, Ukrayna'nın II. Dünya Savaşı sırasında ayda 200 tank ürettiğini hatırlatarak önerdikleri işbirliği modelleri arasında bazılarının birkaç ay içinde uygulamaya konulabileceğini ifade etti.

If they can increase the piston count to 8 (increasing torque) and coupling it with a new hydraulic transmission instead of the shitty cut gears, it wouldn't be that bad.. But current torque on 6TD3 is terrible, Altay would not meet Western MBT standards 0 to 32kmh in 6 seconds forward and reverse, also would be headache upgrading and increasing weight..

There is a 1800HP engine as well 6td5 or its in development.

just to say there is more room in altay to put alternatives for MTU,we learned lessons from fırtına howitzers

Pakistan uses the 6TD-2 in the al-Khalid MBT. I'm sure the Turkish Army and Otokar will find out from there.

Do we have any light-weight tank program? Changing all tank battalions with Altay would be so expensive and unnecessery. If we would have 3000 new-gen light weight tanks and 1000 Altay tanks in 2030s, it could be enough to replace old tanks from 50s-60s tech.

Turkey and Pakistan are basically eyeing the same core 1,500 engine design for Altay and al-Khalid 2, respectively. Would be a good idea for trilateral engine development between Turkey, Pakistan and Ukraine.

İt will not be easy,there will be huge tork differences,also
transmision system is german too,,,,,but on positive site 6TD3 is reduce ten pecent of weight of the our big boy and tork canbe improved to additional 10-15 percent so we can narrow the gap,but overall this project woul be better planned interms motor and transmission sytems,we do not have even domestic ammo for it,this also say something about planning,,altay project should change the SSSM s future plans

Ukrainian 6TD-5 - experimental , needed space 1,4 cubic meters ( bigger than MTU)
