What i want to say is that i think only some Design Changes makes not the Altay different then K2.

I don´t believe that the Altay is an Ingenious Design.

It will the Same like K2 nothing more.


Look only at the Companies who are working on this Project and you will have your answers.

Only the Chassis from Altay is based on K2, it is more stretched ! The Turret, FCS, Optical Sights and the Gun are developed in Turkey ! The Motor come from Germany.

Even european Countries and the us do not produce Weapons with 100% indigenous Resources, the FCS and 120 mm Gun from M1A2 Abrahams come from Germany !

Only later ,First M1 ´s was different.

They based on MBT70 but both Country´s have different Variants and developed from this their own Designs.

They have worked for this and both of these Country can make their own Engine,Design,Armour,Gun´s and develope them.

The main important Matter is not if Altay is 100% indigenous, Altay MBT is allready developed in Turkey ! This we can modify the Weapon System to our own Requirement and we must not Fear that Kill Switches make our Tanks useless in Case of War ! It makes no sense to spend 5 Million $ for a Leo-2 or M1 which will be made useless with Kill Switches !

The Engine comes from Germany and not Turkey ,it´s something like a Heart of all Vehicles ,an Engine.

So what will happen example if Turkey have bad relationship to Germany ? Who will give Engine or Part´s for Altay´s Heart ?
