Some people are asking how changing a name would do anything? Well, it is would a sign that we are speeding up in the a progressive direction and secularism. Why should a specific religion govern everything just because the majority believes in it? That can actually get to Nazi Germany levels, considering the majority of 1940's Germans wanted the Jews dead, so they acted upon it. That implies that the majority of population in any country can do whatever they want, which is of course insane.

Bro your thinking is correct, that everyone has equal rights to a nation be it hindu, muslim or anyone. But how will you save your country. How can you fight the growing ranks of people like hafiz Sayeed? You can already see, you are 20-1 outnumbered by Pakistanis on this forum who are opposed to you.

Do you think Hafiz Sayeed would agree to make Pakistan secular. He would declare you kafir and CIA/RAW agent and get you killed.

It's not that easy to kill me you know ;) . It is to save our society, we don't want to become a world power. We only want to build a country with a decent standard of living, and secularism is a way to break off the growing power of religious leaders.

.
Now people are going to be blame me for having such a negative view of my home country, but I am telling the truth, and even if the truth is not something that was told to us through biased text books.
.

We can't handle the truth .. The fear is impact of removing Islamic republic will result in disintegrating Pakistan

But how will you do it? Hafiz sayeed and his kind of people controls your PA, Judiciary and Politcal leaders. Unless you oppose or expose people like Hafiz Sayeed and that Lal Masjid cleric how will you win in your aim?

On top of that Saudi pays millions to traitors of Pakistan, to ensure that Pak becomes more like KSA everyday.

What chance you have against such odds?

It is going down the same path anyways

List of Countries That Have an Islamic Republic.

Category: General Knowledge

The following is a list of Countries that have an Islamic Republic.

An Islamic Republic strikes a middle path between a completely secular and a theocratic (and/or Orthodox Islamic) system of government. It is also sometimes, just a symbol of cultural identity, as was the case when Pakistan adopted the title.

S.No. Countries That Have an Islamic Republic

1. Afghanistan

2. Iran

3. Mauritania

4. Pakistan

If above definition regarding with Islamic Republic is correct then no wonder Pakistan is a perfect example
of it:tup: adhe teetar adhe btair:wink:
So it would be a Republic of Pakistan or just Islamic Pakistan.
The other three countries with this title are make sense to debate rather than bring ME,West,China,India into it Coz it seems all about title for some genius here not achievements.

I hope you win. All the best.

but at this stage can you tell me what steps/signs indicate that something is happening in Pakistan which can take on Hafiz Sayeed's jihadi army? To everyone it seems, that nothing in really changing in Pakistan even after the previous terrorist attack on those childern. Apart from some statements, and bombarding of some militants, there is no fight against the broader extremist infrasturcture of the country. it is business as usual for all practical purposes.

Or better why don't you open a PERMANENT THREAD (in some relevent Pakistani section) to track the movement/progress/events in Pakistan against extremism and those intended to make Pakistan a secular county. Can you do it?

but you and other likeminded Pakistanis would have to update it regularly. I say its a good way to promote your view points among Pakistanis. But I don't know if you can take so much effort or if you will be allowed to open such a sticky thread in pdf.

.
And you know what?
Mr.Jinnah sounded as secular as Nehru when he made his speech after getting freedom.....
"you may belong to any state, caste or creed but that has nothing to do with the business of the state".

So yes separation was nothing but a mistake and also what it fetched to was to segregate all the extremists to one side. *We do know that many from India who had gone to Pakistan later returned when they came to know Pakistan was not what it was supposed to be.May be Jinnah's death soon after independence just added to the troubles Pakistan was facing, with half its politicians disillusioned Pakistan soon became a breeding ground for the extremists.

* These 're just some of the examples...
Raja of mahmudabad, right hand man of Jinnah who resigned from Muslim league party and lived in India because he felt his party had done "hara kiri".
Ustad bade Ghulam khan who went to Pakistan during partition and came back.
Josh Malihabadi who famously said "we can not partition urdu" kept going to and fro from India to Pakistan only to realise that he had no nation and no home left after partition.

Well said ... We are indebted to Mr. Jinnah that he settled the issue on religious line once n for all otherwise we would have been keep discussing the future partition( in the riots situation like direct action day with unimaginable bloodshed n chaos) in united India...
Jinnah ji aapko mera koti koti pranaam ....

It is going to require something more than just a sticky thread. It is going to need a revolution, with blue and green flags and what not. But it is extremely unlikely.

P.S Did you knew Hafiz Sayeed is actually not half as sadist as some other people in Pakistan.

Bro half sadist or not. Let me tell you he and his followers will kill you if you ask to implement secularism in Pakistan.

If you intend to bring secularism in your country, hafeez Sayeed and his army will be your most fierce rival. Or prove me otherwise. You will be surprised and hugely mistaken if you think Hafiz sayeed will allow secular values to be promoted in Pakistan.

Your whole fight for secularism, starts from fighting against Hafiz style people. If you and seculars have to win, someone will also have to loose - and that someone will be people like Hafiz, Lal Masjid cleric and others like them. Someone's win is always someone's loss.

. .
ok so now I will start counting. I have two names in my list. @Peaceful Civilian and @Ussaid who want secularism in Pakistan.

from this point will add more if I come across more. Or let me know if you know others.

I'm in favor to FIX the name if it's really work to get achievements i.e socially, religiously, economically, right now we are hanging in between Republic and Islamic thingy. A great Pakistan is without Mullaistan sound more productive in all aspects.

The basic idea is whether you believe in a secular Pakistan and a secular society (same rules/values/constitution for all relgion people Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Ahmadis, Shias, Sunnis). It is not just a name change but more then that. Essentially it is about whether you believe in Secular values or not. So what do you believe in?

Basically the state would treat everyone equally irrespective of religion. It does not matter to state whether you are Hindu, Muslim, Ahmadi or Shia or Sunni. The state rules have nothing to do with your religion.

Should I add your name in that list who believe in having a secular Pakistan and Secular society in Pakistan?
