After 1984, Pakistan launched several attempts to displace the Indian forces from Soltoro Ridge, but with little success. The most well known was in 1987, when an attempt was made by Pakistan to dislodge India from the area. The attack was masterminded by Musharraf heading a newly raised elite SSG commando unit with U.S. Special Forces help in the area. After bitter fighting that included hand-to-hand combat, the Pakistani attack was repulsed with heavy losses to the SSG (Which Pakistanis consider one of the best in the world, and who were beaten back not by Indian commandos but normal infantry) and the positions remained the same.

I do not want to indulge in a who is brave, who has more muscles and who has bigger testicles sort of a debate. Thank you.

Before chest thumping, study about the details of that operation which by no means was able to succeed. Had the Indian post at Rana top been isolated, before being attacked then it would have been a different game.

Indian map? Really? If it was an India map, it would not have referred to Azad Kashmir as 'AZAD KASHMIR' as shown!! This is a Pakistani map! Epic fail!!

Even if the map is pre-1984 then you must remember that UN made a cartographic error in maps in 1967.

Kind of irrelevant. The only important documents were the Karachi & the Shimla agreements, neither of which demarcated positions beyond NJ-9842. Any & all maps suggesting anything beyond that is simply not tenable.

Just agree they are sitting in Srinagar. The Pak army captured it in 1948. And since all the maps in Pakistan show that J&K is part of Pakistan...it is so. Not to mention there are maps of Khurasan, khujlistan and ghazea e behind also in Pakistan.

There was a long discussion with a chap on this same topic and on the status of J&K as a whole. But, they captured J&K in 1948. So........

India lost it's identity in 1947 when we took away Pakistan from you. Slowing you down is one of the achievements too. No economy or education is getting destroyed. Insurgency is going on in the nation and it will go down with the time. You do not have to be worried. What we have in terms of economy, is more than sufficient for us.
