Everyday about 10% of Indian population sleep hungry without any food, about 120 people die in India everyday due to malnutrition, some of the ministers relate this to poverty but it is otherwise , yesterday hindi news channel aaj tak showed that about 1200 metric tons of rice and wheat stagnated in godowns of FCI in the etavah district of UP, and 100s in this district suffer from malnutrition, i think that what is the point of keeping so many grains in government godowns when 100s die due to hunger, this is not a story of etavah alone , also many military godowns in India have much more foodgrain than they should really have, such hoarding of grains not only leads to hunger but also inflation and also such hoarding of foodgrains is an insult for the citizens of our nation , nobody but rodents are benefited by this type of hoarding.

What does one expects when corrupt and greedy leaders like sharad pawar are made agriculture minister?
Congress govt. has a history of fueling inflation. They make such policies that supports hoarding. In this way they get more party funds from industrialists.
Now they are making all these huge stocks of grain rot in rain and afterwards when the prices of food grains will rise then they will earn huge profits.
Its so sad to see that all this surplus yield is getting rotten at one side and at other side millions go to sleep with hungry stomach.
The only time when inflation will be down is before a major election.
We ourselves are responsible for this situation because its our votes that have brought congress to power.

Governments buy foodgrains from farmers to keep them in their godowns, this system is there in every nation to feed the hungry and to provide relief to people in case of natural calamities, indian government buys about 30% of foodgrains from farmers and then their are state run farms also.

They first let the food grains coming under govt. quota rot.
Then they take no action over private stock holders for illegally hoarding food grains.
Then they export large quantities of food grains.
This creates shortage of supply
This leads to rise in prices.
When prises rise they sell those stored grains at a higher prices.
The share of profit goes to a political party as party fund.
Our congress party is a very old culprit of this crime.
You know, almost 30% of the food grains are let to rot every year!! The blame goes to lack of storage space. But the truth is otherwise.

this is not an assumed fact, Food Corporation of India is rated as one of the most corrupt organizations in India, the fact is they are just careless and what can you expect from a corrupt and careless organization.

The indian govt. doesn't hoard. It simply doesn't takes any action against hoarders because the ruling party gets a share of the profit in the name of party funds.
Similar things happen in all countries. Its something very common.
The ruling party always makes policies that benefits the people who donate heavily to the party.

Food corporation of India was formed to ensure that farmers will not get exploited by the middle men because usually most of the profit was earned by middle men and farmers will get only peenuts..to stop the farmers exploitation and to ensure that foodgrains should be distributed across the country FCI started ..but lately it become a disppointement with food grain ******* in its stores..this link might help you..
