Tiger is the stronger and more heavy-weight creature of the two. Tiger is also more clever, lion is rather the brawler and in-your-face type of cat.

However, lion is the more majestic creature.

Tigers are better hunters and Lion's have a mane advantage which prevents tigers from snapping their neck.
I saw couple of their fights usually the tiger is dominating the fight but in this the lion wins

I'd also like to point out that lionesses do all the hunting and male lion hogs all the food for himself. What a king

If strength is the only reason to select a King, then we must select elephant or hippo as the king.

we have to consider the character of both animals, to see which one fits more to a King.

Tiger:

• A hunter, hunts and kill animals even if it is not hungry.
• Does not develop a family bond, doesn't raise its own cubs. It is the character of a muscular biker, who stops at a bar, finds a girl, do the necessary and here he goes, never to comeback again.
• Powerful, but Kings do not necessarily have to be powerful. Don't we think that kings used to have warriors in their army who were much more powerful than kings themselves.

Lion

• Family man! protects its females from the intruders
• Loves its cubs
• define the parameters of its kingdom
• Oonly hunts when hungry

This is a long standing debate.Right from early Greeks who used to pit them one against another to the modern environmentalists, This remains an open question.The answer to this question not only varies one person to another but also varies with geographies.We, in the Indian subcontinent and all land East to it, swear by the undisputed king of jungle-Tiger. Here Sher means Tiger.But in the western society and their culture, Lion represents the King of the jungle.(I don't know about middle east)

I believe Tiger is and should be the rightful king of the jungle.Due to following.

1. Tiger is the heaviest and strongest cat weighing up to 300KG(Highest being 387 kg). Lion at max can weigh 250kg but average between 180-190Kg.
2. Tiger jaw strength is 1000psi while Lion's is only 600psi.
3. Tiger hunts alone but Lion hunts in packs.
4. Tough Lion is taller than Tiger but Tiger is longer than Lion.Tiger can stand on its hind legs and fight like a boxer but Lion has weak hind legs and can not stand on them.

So guys what do you think? You are in camp Lion or Camp Tiger.

Siberian tigers are bloody huge, much bigger than lions. They also hunt much larger prey, and do it by themselves rather than in a pride like lions do.

The only predator that can 1 on 1 stop a fully grown siberian tiger would have to be a polar bear, even then it wouldn't be easy.
