such a shame, isn't it ? Iran too, it's all linked anyway. The way I see it, Pakistan is a casualty of the religious intolerance virus, which they went into overdrive to spread following the fall of the Shah and the Islamic revolution in Iran.hard to bring back that time.. specially as long as there is oil in the middle east and the will to use the money to spread hatred and violence
Hi sorry I edited your post to avoid any butt hurt to to posters who might find your post inconsiderate.oops, discussion closed but I'd typed out a reply so

My parents visited Iran during the time of the Shah and they told me how progressive and liberal it was, women dressed the way they wanted to, no fascist religious bs. They spend quite a bit of time in the UK and other places in Europe too and often had Pakistanis as colleagues and friends, so I also heard from them about how Pakistani society was pretty much better off than then socialist India in almost every way, the US dollars were flowing in, the economy was booming.
How things change, anyway, hope Pakistan can make somewhat of a return to the peaceful and prosperous times it's seen, spl wrt how society was liberal and not so Saudi influenced.
