HQ-16A, SPADA-2000 (MR-SAMS), FM-90B (SR-SAM), Sky guard system etc.

Also in past there were rumours that Pakistan had HQ-2B high altitude SAMS which later proved to be true, now rumours are that HQ-9 variant (LR-SAM) is already inducted but not disclosed like HQ-2Bs were not disclosed for years.



Its not as simple as you say.

We are talking about non rumours , the only ones with medium /high range SAMS in pak forces inventory ?
Bring the official link pls ASAP.
But hiding a high/medium range SAM in our defence strategic structure , won't serve good for our national defence either ?

Problem is the mind set , which is still holding Pakistan defence forces getting into hitech age .
Reality is , Pakistan haven't have any high range SAMs , & thats bad specially when we are facing a massive enemy air force armed with huge BVR capabilities ?
There is no harm in accepting our weakness , cause at some point , that realization can bring the requried security measures in its place .

  MOSCOW: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Russia attaches great importance to counter-terrorist cooperation with Pakistan as a key player in the field, according to a report published on the Sputnik website.
  
  "Pakistan is one of the key countries in the fight against terrorism. In this regard, Russia, of course attaches great importance to cooperation with Pakistan," Peskov told reporters.
  
  Earlier in January this year, the Russian Army's Commander-in-Chief Oleg Salyukov had announced that Russian ground forces will hold its first ever military exercises with Pakistan in the coming year
  
  A Russian delegation had also visited Pakistan last month to discuss the sale of military hardware and agreement to enhance defence cooperation between the two countries.

If that is true then these birds should not be inducted in PAF. Army should raised "Battle Field Air Wing" and these should be inducted in that Branch with primary role to provide air cover over battle field.This will obviously reduce burden of PAF.

Technically yes MKI, Rafael have some edge, but you should understand that PAF is not going to fight much fight over Indian air space, PAF now will prefer to stay in Pakistani air space and use standoff munitions to strike. Air dominance over Pakistani air space is top priority for PAF that is why they are sticking with F-16s which are best bet in current financial situation (although I also don't want more sanction prone birds in PAF).

PA understands limitations of PAF that is why they are interested in SAMS like Pentsir, Tor, Buk (latest versions), that is main reason FM-90B have been inducted.

No need to thank about NLI man, they deserve respect and appreciation what they have done for their country. During Kargil I came to know bravery stories of NLI from soldiers on ground there, they are appreciated even by PA colleagues.

If we induct Su-35 or similar jet tomorrow even then it will take 5 to 10 years for whole crew (from technician to pilot) to master and develop tactics, that is one of many why PAF is still buying F-16s, problem is China is taking time in maturing its 5th generation fighter jet and other options are in very early stages. Kick bages are also issue but not as big as availability of funds from corrupt Gov't.
