What's new

Four years from now, Pakistan will have to repay the world more than $21bn it has to pay this year

Unfortunately - Miftah’s straight talk cannot move either the Riyasat e Madinah or Sultanat e Sharif or Khaki Family.

The country will not default today - but in next 4 years continue to borrow until more and more concessions will be given on security issues and eventually institutions will drop - and a combination of a quasi- Yugoslavia without the heavy civil war and Argentina will be the result

.... while everybody and their uncle right up to the great Satan will be blamed for it, everyone except where the blame really belongs - within Pakistan, and after that is done, they all will get in line for visas.

.
So what? For a nation of 210 million, if we cannot pay our dues of $21B in 4 years, then shame on us.

Get the exports up, increase tax revenues, cut back on spending/imports and this is very doable.

Let's see. All countries have difficult patches. Pakistan is down right now, but it is not out.
Political stability is a fragile thing in South Asia. Just keep that in mind.
No one talks about work. We need to put people to work. Too many idle people on streets.
More working people leads to more revenue and more exports plus less subsidies due to less freeloaders.

If I was the PM

I would get some loyal senior commanders on side.
Get rid of the corrupt generals by inviting then and all the harami politicians for a get together.

Not allow anyone to leave until they pay up the full debt of Pakistan.

Then shoot the lot and ho after their families so the weeds never return. Spare no one

Unless everyone in Pakistan join hands to get country out of this mess nothing will change.
Gov should find a way to make overseas Pakistanis spend a month every year to do something productive there that is good for the economy.
Too many buggers goung back home just to eat and get fat.

Even better, how about making the 230 million do something more productive all throughout the year? That just might work better, methinks. :D

These are all silly fairy tales to dumb down masses even further with false promises of a solution. A story of this sort is alluded to Vlad the Impaler (also known as Count Dracula) who murdered a whole lot of aristocracy after inviting them to a meal. Despite that happening, Romania is a regressive, underperforming entity on the world stage to this day.

Corruption, theft, pillaging is at all levels of Pakistani life. The ones who get to the top come from the masses. If it has taken 70+ years to get here, it will take some time to wean this corruption off. There is NO quick solution.

Also, the "full debt of Pakistan" is owed by the public of Pakistan. It is on their behest all loans and imports are granted. That is why we have The motorways, airports, Gwader and what not.

And anyone who promises a quick solution is LYING.

Oh yes...the population of Pakistan is asked about loans before they are taken.. they are asked how the money is spent.
Your solution is let the theives be. I wonder why?

I am not against the law of the land working against corruption. I just don't buy into these "easy" solutions i.e. chop heads off, bring on a murderous revolution etc. etc. We have countries with similar levels of corruption as Pakistan like India, BD etc. that are still moving forward. It's an imperfect system but it allows for progress. The same applies to Pakistan. So don't buy into these fairytale murderous projects no matter who sells them to you. They are not practical nor are they the solution.

Getting to a corruption free society takes time and is an issue of the mindset. It requires deprogramming so people realize corruption is not good for either them or the larger society. Otherwise there is corruption in countries where laws are in place and work.

I would also address your first point. Yes, The population of Pakistan asked for loans to be taken when they elected people to the office to run the country. Simply put, running a country requires money. If your earnings are not equal to or greater than your expenses then you have no choice but to borrow. We have an underperforming population. To meet the needs of this population (example oil) loans are needed. Isn't this an expense being borne for the "population" of Pakistan?

Oh bhai..
Now reality. Do u think what I said is likely? Not even 1 %
I was letting off steam because we are all sick of the beasts robbing our country. But as you said this is rampant at every level sadly

Given how Pakistani's love a good wedding - there is the need of a "red wedding in Pakistan with all PDM and the Army Generals and ISI all invited .."
