Of course it is in the interest of Turkey. Opposition has been saying this for years. Things would have gotten much better our way if we normalized relations with the legitimate government of Syria couple of years ago before YPG expansion.

It seems like pretty general knowledge to me though. Turkey and Syria nearly went to war prior to this agreement, so it does not come as as surprize that Turkey enforced an agreement that it was willing to got to war over not two decades earlier. Turkey enforced its guarantee rights on Cyprus, and it will enforce its rights in Syria.

If they knew then why the president hadnt pressed, using this beneficial situation. He just said we have the right to defend our borders. thats all. im pretty sure they d just comprehended it after Putin conveyed it.
