To Indian Members: Sending Money to India?

I use remit2india and money2india. Both are good. You can take a look at Xoom.com I heard you can lock exchange rate in it so you will get the same amount you saw at the time of transaction. For rest the exchange rate is of the day when money get into your account that is usually 3-4 days after the transaction.

.
Go PNB's web site to get full details,it would take less than 36 Hrs or less if thrz no intermediate bank--all transactions will scrutinized.

.
and if u want to send money regularly say every month..thr another method..ie u should upon a new account in ur local bank,request an ATM card,send it ur friend unactivated,make it active only open safe delivery to ur friend and send him the password.Set up the new account in such a way that u should restrict the number withdrawals per day/week/month and also the maximum amount per withdrawal,also set alerts on ur mobile whenever thrz an unusual activity on that particular ATM card--mobile alerts.U should block OVERDRAFT..This way u can keep an eye on ur friend. :lol:
Indian banks charge approx under Rs200/- for every transaction and give best exchange rate, ur friend can decide about the best day when the ex rate is good.

Thanks again, guys!
I have asked my cousin to send me his bank address.

@Backme up,
Yes, I am a Pakistani by birth--born n raised; commonly known in the category of 'Mohajirs'; but I have literally dozens of first and second cousins and uncles/cousin-uncles and what-not relatives in India. A chunk of my anscestors--including my father-- migrated to Pakistan in and around 1947. But we have fairly strong ties between the relatives in both countries.
This cousin of mine--my 'Chacha's Son'--is born and raised in India.
