T-625 & Turkish Utility Helicopter Programs

TAI’s T625 has been optimized to meet and exceed the multi-mission requirements for harsh geographical environments in day and night conditions. Within the scope of the program which initiated by TAI based on the knowledge and experience gained during the T129 ATAK program, critical systems such as transmission, rotor and landing gears as well as avionics.

As prime contractor, TAI is responsible of design, development, production, test and qualification of the rotorcraft. The T625 will be able to perform a wide range of missions, from tactical transport to cargo, off-shore transport, CSAR, and medical evacuation.

According to TAI, the certification and qualifications phases would start in 2018 and will be completed in 2021, with the first flight scheduled for early September 2018. With a take-off weight of 6,050 kg, the T625 can accommodate up to 12 passengers.

T625 TLUH prototypes are to be powered by two LHTEC CTS800-4A turboshaft engines (2x 1373 shp), giving it a maximum cruise speed of 306 km/h. The production rotorcraft will be powered by TEI’s first home-made 1,400 shp turboshaft engine, following a contract awarded by the SSM in Feb. 2016.

The T625 has a service ceiling of 6,096 m and an operational range of 740 km, and 948 km with auxiliary fuel tank. It has a standard fuel capacity of more than 1,000 l, allowing an endurance of 4 h, and more than 5 h with the 280 l-auxiliary fuel tank.

Domestic turbo-shaft engine called TS-1400 is under development phase !

Could any Turk bro tell me what does this poster say? I can see a picture of Indian Dhruv helicopter in it (from Sarang display team).

It just says indigenous turboshaft helicopter/motor development and shows specs of the heli/motor. The pictures are just showing examples of helicopters of a similar class.

Thank you sir. All the best for your sleek looking copter. We started with a light copter, now have a attack copter under trials based on it, a light utiliy single engine copter had its first flight this year and we presented mock up of a medium (10 t plus) copter in our expo this year. Its a slow and painful start always.

TAI has already developed an attack helicopter T129 and it's currently in service of the land forces.

I know that. But this looks like your own design, much more difficult. The Atack is based on A129.

Lighter an heavier variants will also be revealed in the light of T-625 project success. T series utility copter and domestic turboshaft projects aim to create a big national helo family...

Makes sense. Having done the most difficult part of actually building the industrial ecosystem you must use it. Exactly what we are doing too.

This is a serious award. But I read here in PDF IDEF 2017, that a Turkish Company got RED DOT AWARD for heavy snow snow clearing machines ;
that's nothing. It is a award from Germany , you can buy it if you have enough money.
A German company imported a super effective and designed GPS tracker for disabled persons.
They " bought Red DOT AWARD ( in Essen city- http://en.red-dot.org/about-us.html) ".
Now they are in court case with the Chinese manufacturer who has Chinese Patent and EU-Patent from Spain Registration office.
