I don't know about USS Growler, but I do know that you can go on and tour and even take rides on USS Blueback (Barbel class) at the OMSI Museum in Portland, Oregon. I've been on it.

At the Intrepid Air and Space Museum you are allowed to explore the carrier, but can't go on or in the aircraft.

Sorry, I mentioned its purposes but not the class. It's part of the Grayback class of SSGs.

USS Grayback was also used as an LPSS designated submarine - transport sub.

seems like a nice place to visit but is there any other (military) attractions around it which one can visit while he is there.
