Source? I highly doubt it, Turning a regular fighter into a stealth fighter takes to much time and money, it's not worth it. You'd be better off just building a new one from the ground up.

KSA involvement would be a Game Changer for the JFT program.

For the Saudis it will be acquiring and building a 4.5 Generation aircraft at a fraction of the cost.

For all the jokers who think Saudis have money to burn so why would they be interested in JFT, I have news.

Saudis are sophisticated and astute Businessmen and know the concept of VALUE.

They understand that by using the the JFT Platform and sprucing it up with the state of the art avionics and sensors as well as highly advanced weapons systems , they can buy/make an aircraft that rivals the best west has to offer, at a third of the price.

I think with Saudi help, JFT can be turned into a highly effective fighter plane that will give its opponents a run for its money.

Perhaps, but as you know, being interested in a product isn't the same as being a serious customer. The Saudis may be thinking about it, but I don't honestly see them buying the fighter, or joining the program.

I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but so far, nothing has shown me that they're actually serious about getting involved in anyway with the JF-17. Maybe you guys know something I don't, but forgive me if I don't hold my breath.

@Arabian Legend

I am well aware of the growing industrial potential of Saudi Arabia. I believe further cooperation in defense sector between two allied states will foster a culture of innovation. As i said, what we learn benefits you directly, either in hardware, training or both.

Btw i just published this piece. :coffee:

Saudi Arabian interest in JF-17 Thunder, can cement the strategic defense relations with Pakistan.

Yes sir, I think we should start with R&D center, attract universities students and faculties, researchers in all field of engineering and physics, math and other necessary sciences from all around the muslim world esp from Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia and form the arab world like Egypt and Jordan. I mean we have the materials to design and build we just need to put all our efforts together.

Thanks for that piece, will give it a look.

. . . .
What agreement? between whom? what does the agreement say?
Agreement b/w Chineese and Russians regarding supply 200-300 Rd-93 for JF-17.
Now if they stop supplying they have to pay huge penalty fee to China & Pakistan…
While till the delivery of 200th Rd-93 it is being expected that Ws-13A will be ready in accordance with PAF wishes…

Saudi eyeing Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter jet, modeled from U.S. F-16 | World Tribune

Please post source next time.

I don't personally believe this at all. Until I actually see them signing a deal, these are just empty promises, all of which we've heard before. Pakistani officials have said that they expect to sell around 7 fighters this year, but with no serious customers in sight, the fighter can be considered an export failure.

Note that I'm not insulting the fighter; the JF-17 is an excellent fighter for it's price, but with no sales in sight, who're we fooling with our fanboyism?
There are chances of Co production or production under licence in KSA because KSA is establishing defence sector in their kingdom so there are minor chances.
What I can see is if they choose JF-17 its just they wanna strengthen ties and enter in new era of strategic partnership with Pakistan coz AK-2 MBT was more good option for KSA rather than JF-17 otherwise KSA any sort of purchase of JF-17 will be leap towards JF-17 export success coz many other countries will surely follow them.

What does that agreement say about third party sales?

.
PAF shows Jf-17 to every foreign dignitary who visits our country.
Last month Jordanian chief visited Kamra, does that mean they're also buying Jf-17?
