Russian team holds talks on sale of military hardware

ISLAMABAD: A Russian delegation is visiting Pakistan to discuss the sale of military hardware.

The delegation, led by Fomin Alexander Vasilyevich, director of the Federal Service for Military — Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation, visited General Headquarters on Thursday for a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, the military’s public affairs division, ISPR, said in a statement.

The discussion, during the meeting, focused on enhanced defence cooperation, the statement reads.

In November 2014, Pakistan and Russia had signed a bilateral defence cooperation agreement to strengthen military-to-military relations.

The agreement was followed by another ‘technical cooperation agreement’. Last year, Russia concluded a deal for the sale of four Mi-35 attack helicopters to Pakistan.

The defence deal marked a major shift in Russian policy towards Pakistan and the start of a new chapter in bilateral ties.

“There is a commitment to move ahead and widen that cooperation,” said a military official. A source said Russia was in negotiations with Pakistan over the sale of other equipment.

It’s a game for sure even a win win situation by visiting Pakistan they will get two benefits confuse India (Indian will worry they may lose good supplier) and if India still prefer French Jets then a possible new customer already in pocket.

If French deal signed with India, i am quite sure we will soon see SU-35 and some other nice stuff in our inventory.

Of Course , Russians are dumb enough to embrace a paltry 290 billion $ market and ignoring a 2.5 trillion $ market .

My last reply to you on this thread don't want a keyboard war with you.
Listen when Indian purchase weapons from USA and France there will no big market left for Russia in India. they go for new customers and Pakistan will be the ideal one after Indian Pakistan will become big importer of Russian goods. Take my words. They don't produce military hardware for storage the will look for new buyers.

But the hard reality Pakistan is not a 200 billion$ defence market like India's ,your key board effect wont change that fact .I replied in this post because you tried to compare Indian business with little paltry business of Pakistan .A single deal with India worth billion of dollars are far better than the a thousand soft loan deals with Pakistan .
IF they try to intimidate us they will lose deals again.We have money , a powerful diplomacy a thriving economy and fast developing technologies .Any way we will eventually develop our own weapons and replace foreigners with that until then we will invite all good companies in this world .All of them including Russia's can participate ,show case good systems and will get good deals .
