KARACHI: Just hours before re-elections in some polling stations of NA-250 are due to begin, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf central vice president was shot dead outside her house in Karachi.
According to initial details, Zara Shahid Hussain was shot dead outside her house in Defence Phase IV late on Saturday evening.
The motive of the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
She was the central vice president of the party and a member of the party’s central executive committee. She was also the former president of the party’s Sindh Women’s wing.

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh senior vice president, Zahra Shahid Hussain was gunned down here on Saturday night, Geo News reported.

According to initial reports, unidentified gunmen shot her outside her residence in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase IV here.

According to police she was ambushed by two bikers who were lying in wait near her house, which makes it a targeted killing.

"The assailants opened fire on Zahra, 60, as soon as reached the gate of her residence", police added.

The attackers fled away leaving seriously wounded.

She succumbed to her injuries on her way to the hospital, sources said.

According to hospital sources she was hit by two bullets.

KARACHI - Unidentified assailants killed Sindh PTI Senior Vice President Zahra Shahid Hussain outside her house in DHA Phase-IV. She was a founding member of the PTI. Zahra was the better half of former ambassador Shahid Hussain. Police said apparently it was a target killing incident. The woman was shot in head. According to one private TV channel, she was killed for resisting a robbery bid. On the other hand, another TV channel said the woman was killed by target killers.
