You're right those who should know are actually well aware of it but never underestimate the power of public opinion in favor of a war ..for example high American casualties in Vietnam (November 1967, American troop strength in Vietnam was approaching 500,000 and U.S. casualties had reached 15,058 killed and 109,527 wounded.) ended in anti-war protests in the US forced Americans to decrease deployed military troops on the ground and increase air strikes ...If American people had knew the possible dire consequences of war in Vietnam they would have prevented their Gov. ...
Look at American false flag to get public opinion support for bang bang before starting a war ...
And how did that war became so costly? Because USSR and China (collectively) armed Vietcong and funded its operations. In addition, Vietnam's geography was not suitable for mechanized operations in large swaths of the country. The Americans did not had smart bombs back then either. Vietnam, by itself, stood no chance against the Americans.

On the other hand, Iran would have stood alone. I'd say that Iranian leadership took a wise decision by prioritizing diplomacy over hard-line stance against the Americans. Now your nation have a chance to recover and become strong again.

It is better to be underestimated than be overestimated.

Also its better to overestimate your opponent than underestimate them.

Who do you mean by people? Governments? Iranians? or foreigners? It really doesn't matter if regular foreigners underestimate Iran's capability! what their governments assessment is what matters!

And what's more dangerous is that we the Iranian people and government overestimating our own capabilities!

Haghegat ean e k zaaf dar nirou e havvai, Artesheh Iran o ta haddi zaeef kardeh k bahs dar moredesh dar ean site monaseb nemedonm.....

@SOHEIL is this what you had briefly referred to while back:

http://www.mashreghnews.ir/fa/news/625933/۳-پیشنهاد-برای-تحقق-دستورِ-استراتژیک-فرمانده-نیروی-هوایی-در-اولویت-برای-افزایش-توان-تهاجمی

البته ناگفته نماند که جمهوری اسلامی ایران حتما به تولید یک هواپیمای سنگین بمب‌افکن نیز نیاز جدی دارد، چیزی که در دستور کار ساخت نیز قرار دارد.

Seems this might be an important article. It'll take a while, but damn it, I'm reading the whole thing. 8-)

If anyone has already read it, please summarise for our non-Farsi language readers.

It is actually a very very important development.

Yesterday, Iran Supreme Leader had a visit to Iran's defense industry achievements fair and then offered a speech in which he ordered the armed forces for the very first time in increase Offensive capacity. It is a major change in Iran's defense doctrine as so far it was arranging its armed forces for defensive operations.

Rest of the article is about which areas of Iran's armed forces need improvement to increase it Offensive capacity which is the writer's opinion:

  • Air force for sure as the main offensive means these days.
  • Naval and submarine fleet
  • Iran's armored divisions.

.
wow this is such a good and important news. Now that Iran has mastered the asymmetrical warfare, it's time to give a serious boost to our conventional offensive capabilities.

This should not be a surprise however, we always knew once Iran's asymmetrical capabilities reached the desired peak, then airforce etc turn would come. I am just so happy that we're witnessing that day today.

When the leader himself says something should be done, you better believe it is going to be implemented.

.
Irans real strength has always been its capability to wedge an asymmetric proxy war on its enemies in the region ... unlimited recruitment regardless of natioanlities... Underestimation of its weaponry development programs started after imbecile propoganda like Saeghe, Ghaher etc. The real strength is still there form of militias and missile program.

probably , there are something to show that why Our leader gave order about this issue in public ....
