Something I have been asking for ages. What is it that Pakistan brings to the table in any substantive discussions? What are they going to offer India? Many Pakistanis seem to operate on the assumption that they will be doing all the asking & India will simply roll over & give. They keep talking about issues like Siachen or Kashmir in general without ever specifying what it is that will offer in return for whatever concessions they expect from India. Why exactly do they think that India will be accomodative of their concerns? Ask Pakistanis that & they simply go blank & simply stay with the old stated positions as if they offering anything new. They seem not to understand that the very idea of a dialogue works only if there is some discussion & movement from stated positions. For that to happen, there must be some reason why India will agree to change her position. Some sort of a quid pro quo. Never seen any one articulating that here or outside. That would be something to discuss not the usual grandstanding exercises.

I have a suggestion.
Start a new thread on this very topic, yet pose questions in simple short sentences.

Why does Pakistan/Pakistani's think that India would give up Kashmir or Siachen.

I think we may move forward based on that!

Every country would only go so far. China will not put its relations with our countries at stake for pakistan and vice versa. This is compounded by the fact that India-China trade would surge significantly and touch 100$ billion dollars soon. You think any nation would sacrifice that? And ultimately even if they do then the more imp question is for WHAT? What pakistan brings to table for them.

At best pakistan can hope to get unlimited supply of spares and weapons from China. This is pretty logical and there are chances of China being more biased towards pak than India. Its expected.

Now even considering that India needs to be prepared. And the preparation not only includes Military development but also Foreign relations with Important players read ( US, Japan, Russia and look east policy). While it would be foolish for India to expect any help from any of these players but sure they can play a big part as US alone would not want India " a key to containing China" to consume its resources engaging with China. I am not saying they would stop China from supplying spares to pakistan but they would all they can to ensure China does not open a new front with India.

That being said India has to be prepared for the worst. And to avoid the worst the best preparation is to TRADE In big amounts with China.

well unlike pakistanies we dont think china as being almighty ...open your eyes in todays world there are some countries like USA,Israel ,japan & france , Russia and india that can take on an defeate china but thats not the point...point is why on earth will china fight india as it has more to loose than india + if pakistan carries on with this attitude dont mind but your the weakest link and many times history has shown that two strong enemies alawys have a desire to break the ice between them and often the weak mediator is made sacrificial lamb for the the new begining...india does not have to fight china if india progresses with same pace and NaMo comes to power in future you will same the same fate as china will not hesitate to put your interests on line for a better future with india ,...hope you get the point

That is why I was saying even if we had to take financial from Muslim countries but we need to get latest weapons JF-17 block2 and J-10b and other fighter jets along with number off frigates and destroyers and submarines we need them really fast because either we will start a war or India will May Allah help us

well brother first thing why will india go to war with china until it declares war on india and we have enof to blunt its agression and give it a very very bloody nose like it will never be able to recover from it and india is chinas least of concern its main problem is sea corridoars which are not in ful chinese control and are often challenged by S. korea , Japan,Taiwan, vietnam , phillipines & USA and barring a couple all have airforces which can take on PLAAF & PLAN any day...so buddy come owt of the dream that china will fight india to save pakistan cause "doobthe jahaj aur hare hue ghore ko koi nahi bachata/palta"
