Pakistan army warns of ‘disproportionate response’ in future wars

Your supreme court judge said that the 90% Indians are idiots. Since when, the words of politicians or bureaucrats becomes the foundation for serving national interests?

You just couldn't avoid making an unprovoked stab below the belt.I merely quoted your politician and u habitually made it about india.

India has a long held policy of desertification of Pakistan,

Surmise, unsupported by any indication, whether written or verbal, of any such intention.

their occupation of Kashmir is also motivated by the long term goal of depriving Pakistan from its water supplies.

Further surmise.

Is there a shred of evidence, any remote indication in any source, of such motives having guided Indian policy in Kashmir during the developments in 1946/1947 or thereafter? Other than a perfervid imagination on one side?

The solutions can be reached just like the IWT.

Is it an effort to recall that this was a treaty between two states, and that it was not something dictated by Pakistan at the point of a gun? If India had not wanted a peaceful solution, what stopped it from playing delay tactics and little games? Or is the case that there was a momentary blink, and the Treaty was slipped in with deft diplomatic expertise during that instant of weakness?

Is it asking for too much to seek a little rationality in discussion?

If India keeps playing delay tactics and its little games, it will pay in a big way.

One might seek examples of delay tactics and little games if the proposition was not patently ridiculous. The treaty is already in place. What else is needed?

As for "...it will pay in a big way", what does this mean?

Will Pakistan launch armed tribals on the state of Jammu and Kashmir?
Will commandos be sent across in groups to cause disaffection? Is there a back-up Plan B of supremely ridiculous conception seeking to salvage victory from possible failure of the commandos by attacking with the regular Army?
Will terrorist groups be trained and then slipped across the frontier under cover of firing?
Will terrorist groups be tasked to attack the Indian Parliament, which is, astonishing as it may sound to some, a functioning institution?
Will terrorist groups be helped to capture fishing vessels, and then launch a bloody attack on civilians in a peaceful city?

We will retaliate massively as India is already committing aggression against us.

An interesting threat, as threats go.

If we were to deconstruct the conflict as it has gone on so far, this should mean that you intend to drop a nuclear device on some Pakistani conurbation.

Causing the maximum damage to yourselves seems to have been the summary result of most Pakistani cleverness on the strategic plane.

Its got nothing to do with the illegal Indian control of Pakistani water resources. This report makes no mention of Indus water treaty.

I think it is a very prudent strategy to counter Indian offensive and is well within the capabilities of Pakistani Armed Forces. In the aftermath of post nuclear environment the Indian Army could not cross Pakistan’s perceived nuclear thresholds and had to restrict their planned offensive well short of these red lines. Thus keeping the capture of shallow objectives in mind and in order to terminate the war in an earlier timeframe, the Indian offensive strategy revolved around use of its Pivot Corps in the early stages of offensive in order to capture areas immediately across the international border so that the follow up strike corps could be inducted easily and would then breakout for their relatively deeper objectives.

If Pakistan’s response in such an environment is disproportionate in the early stages of the war, and they are able to disrupt the offensive of Indian Pivot Corps, the overall Indian offensive would be delayed in time and space. Indian strike corps would not be able to take advantage of the momentum sought through the early application of its pivot corps and would not be able to induct in areas across the border for breakout. This would require Indian strike corps to use its integral offensive echelons to again attempt to create space across the international border which would cause further delay. This delay in time would allow Pakistan to redeploy its forces for yet another similar response, when Indians attempt to gain another foothold across the border.

It is indeed a viable strategy and is well within the capability of Pakistani forces.

And there lies the 'Achilles Heel' for Indian war planners. India cannot mobilize faster than Pakistan. If there is one thing PA can pride itself upon is mobility and logistics.

The weapon that could achieve battlefield dominance for IA was the Smerch. It's an absolute hammer, it can punish PA fortifications with impunity or can rain some serious steel on PA's reinforcements sent over to fight IA Armour. This has been countered with the introduction of the A-100 system, by far the best purchase PA has made in the last decade. Thus, PA is on the right track by focusing more on mobility and accurate firepower.

They don't have to justify anything they are the ones dying for us everyday so don't comment on issues you have no idea about.

Don't you find your statement a little ridiculous?

Who are killing the soldiers? Other Pakistanis? Why be so huffy about a patently ungovernable situation due to your machinations?

Ground war itself is not going to happen. At worst some aerial skirmishing might happen, with IAF attempting to strike terrorist and PAF intercepting.Anyway thats how i feel. Its impossible for any side to gain anything from ground war. Thus IA bulk of forces should now be reoriented to where there is actual chance of ground war-N-E border with china.

Somebody tell the Pakistan Army to double check their financial situation again.

Half of the military is funded by US/Saudi dole and here they come talkin about disproportionate response
O really than where was your Army and Air Force and Navy when you blamed us of 26/11 when Mumbai for three convective days was rap.. by 11 terrorists you only talked shit and did nothing Sir and in 2002 you lost 2000 without any major fight

Your supreme court judge said that the 90% Indians are idiots. Since when, the words of politicians or bureaucrats becomes the foundation for serving national interests?

Let us agree with him totally.

That leaves us with 123 million Indians who are not idiots. Do you understand what that means in relative terms?

Moreover, his statement does not affect national interests in any way, only a national ego, if such a thing were conceivable. It is not clear where and how this becomes a foundation.

Oh please if saying such things gives you satisfation then by all means continue the only thing is they are nowhere close to the truth. And why do Indians get huffy about a patently ungovernable situation due to their own machinations in Kashmir??

And you wonder why the world sees Pakistanis as terrorists?
You take pride in terrorist acts.

Indeed you are correct, it does appear that ground war is highly unlikely. It appears that at best, there could be a limited aerial skirmish or an artillery duel. Unfortunately, both sides have improved leaps and bounds in terms of firepower and sophistication. If God forbid a war does takes place, it will make 1965 and 1971 look like a children's fight.

It looks like there is a general consensus among both sides that an armed conflict cannot solve outstanding issues. Both sides are simply too strong and have enough firepower to fry the other back to stone age. The only way outstanding issues can be solved is through a political dialogue.

Our "retaliatory" capabilities can very easily be absorbed and neutralized by india considering their conventional arms superiority and strategic depth. They possess more tanks than us, more advanced aircraft (air superiority is vital in any successful offensive) than us, they have enough strategic depth to fall back to as well as a strong economy to support them during the war and post war recovery. Their military industrial output is perhaps greater than ours and they can afford to churn out more tanks and aircraft during war and they have more than enough man power to pilot and command these machines.

If ever Pakistan could deliver a decisive conventional blow to india's military, it would have to be with a simultaneous Chinese attack from the North East, thus diverting indian resources but the indians seem to be preparing just for that.

India's water war on Pakistan would have to be stopped one way or another. If India thinks, that we will sit quiet and see our nation turn into a desert, they are wrong - very wrong!
So what are you gonna do? Fire your nukes against India?

Before bellyaching and laying the blame at India's doorstep (which you guys always do at the drop of a hat), I suggest you do some research as to why there is water shortage in Pakistan. It all adds up to one word: MISMANAGEMENT. And I'm not saying this. It's you guys who are. Check this out...

ISLAMABAD: Despite having largest irrigation system in the world, Pakistan loses about two third of its water resources due to poor state of infrastructure, said climate and agriculture experts here at a seminar marking World Water Day 2013.

This year the theme for World Water Day 2013 was “International Year of Water Cooperation”. Federal Secretary Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) Ahmed Buksh while addressing the seminar said “About two thirds of our water resources are lost in transmission and seepage. This means that about 68 million acre feet of water can be brought in use if the canal system is adequately repaired and maintained”. Buksh stressed on the need for addressing the issue of water resource management at local, national, regional as well as international levels.

Mismanagement of resources: Pakistan to become water-scarce society

Pakistan is going to become water scarce society in the near future due to mismanagement of available water resources. These views were expressed by a group of intellectuals and scholars during a programme of Bethik.

Speakers said that we are fond of criticising others but are unable to bear criticism on ourselves which is a bad habit.

Despite statements by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureishi that Pakistani mismanagement, not Indian thievery, is responsible for water shortages, general perceptions about the issue –fueled by extremist groups like Jamaatud Dawa- do not coincide.

Pakistani Water Crisis: Concerns about Regional Stability and Conflict | Center for Strategic and International Studies

According to Kamal, as described in a new report from the Woodrow Wilson Center, Pakistan faces significant and widespread water challenges:

Inefficient irrigation.
Abysmal urban sanitation.
Catastrophic environmental degradation.
Lack of water laws to define water rights.
Lack of a sound policy on large dams.

Nuff said. Hope you got the point.

It's our doctrine and we can plan whatever is in our interest.....
Our enemy has an offensive posture against us, so this is the correct response..
