None the Rapists convicted in 5 years !

How come you know that?

Is there any history of me making any troll threads?

Contribute if you can and suggest way of improving the judicial process, rather than running away from it.

PS: I dont know what threads are opened on this forum in 24 hours. Mods can chose to merge it with existing one.

When you open a thread, Similar thread opened before menu drops down. Opening a thread and tagging Indians for what ?

The thread you have mentioned is in urdu and for benefit of international audience, I think that thread should be merged into this one.

For being in urdu, not much discussion happened there, just 4-5 posts.

Who you to decide it is in benefit for international audience to discuss? Is it an Indian matter ? You have a sick mentality seriously

Pakistanis here should introspect about the situation in their country before talking about others.

No matter how hard you try to malign the image of progressive Pakistan, you will never succeed. Hence, no conviction.

Rapes happen only in India and western countries. Rapes dont happen in muslim countries as far as I have read.

So all those FIRs about rape in Pakistan are nothing but a conspiracy to give bad name to Sharia. This way they want to put pressure on Pakistan and make them abandon the Sharia Law by mocking it.

I strongly oppose it.

Try opening a thread with same headline and let me know if any drop down option comes.

English is the only official language or not? Are other nationality allowed to discuss or not?

Dont crib and mind your business before I start demolishing "your character" with expletives.

@Bratva rather wasting your energy on getting this thread deleted, why not you give your opinion on Hudood ordinance.

According to a report by the National Commission on Status of Women(NCSW) "an estimated 80% of women" in jail in 2003 were there as because "they had failed to prove rape charges and were consequently convicted of adultery."

Your opinion please?

ISLAMABAD: Zero. That is the conviction rate for rape cases filed over the last five years in Pakistan, according to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Syeda Sughra Imam. Speaking before the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice, the senator said the dismal statistics led her to move a bill to amend existing laws on the issue.

The committee met under the chairmanship of the PPP’s Senator Kazim Khan for a roundtable discussion with representatives from bar councils. “We will first determine why the conviction rate is zero and whether [it is something inherent] in the laws, the judiciary or the legal procedure itself,” Senator Kazim told The Express Tribune on Sunday. “In my opinion, the stages of legal procedure, investigation and trial require comprehensive legislation,” said Senator Imam.

According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s (HRCP) 2013 report, 2,576 cases of rape were registered in Punjab in 2013 – the highest among all provinces. According to official records, 127 cases of rape and three cases of gang-rape were registered in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa last year, whereas 27 cases of gang-rape were reported in Sindh. The conviction rate in cases of sexual and other violence against women remained critically low and on December 13, female senators staged a walkout from the Senate to protest the lack of convictions.

According to a research study by Rutgers World Population Foundation (WPF) in Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Jaffarabad, and Naseerabad districts, 66 per cent of women interviewed said that they had experienced sexual violence, whereas 93 per cent said that they had been subjected to marital rape.

Imam suggests that amendments be made to Article 218A of the Constitution, which deals with defective investigation. As per her proposed amendment, “Whoever being a public servant, entrusted with the investigation of a case, registered under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, fails to carry out the investigation properly and in breach of his duties, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.”

Imam suggested that amending Article 228A of the Constitution, which deals with the disclosure of the rape victim’s identity, would include a new section stating, “Whoever prints or publishes the name or any matter which may make known the identity of any person against whom an offence under Section 376 is alleged or found to have been committed (hereafter in this section referred to as ‘the victim’) shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine.”

Is this the reason why rape cases are not reported that often in Pakistan and members like Windjammer can take a cheap shot on Indian cases where not only they are reported but people are convicted to death penalty?

2500 + rapes in Punjab only and that too reported!! 8 rapes daily!!

Pakistan seriously need to change the rules/process to bring justice to womenkind.

To all pakistani members, what you think your judicial system is lagging in convicting all these rapists? And what shall be the changes to be implemented to curb this fallacy?

No rapist convicted or rape cases concluded for the last five years?
so on an average - 3000+ (reported) rape cases x 5 years, means more than 15000 rapists or sexual offenders running free, and by extension there was report that said not even 10% rape cases are actually reported in Pakistan and one can assume that only a small fraction of that reaches the courts....shocking scenario.

This is one of the reason for the menace we face in our region.... Tougher laws and faster completion of legal formalities and conviction is one of the ways to reduce this problem..... If the culprits are not convicted then why would one care before committing the crime.....

When it comes to India, there maybe conviction but the time taken is very long...... As people say "Justice delayed is Justice Denied"

On the contrary, women are convicted for adultery because they fail to prove the rape in presence of laws like Hudood ordinance.

Do you know Hadood ordinance was repealed and replaced by Women protection bill? Reading wikipedia and cut and paste job are easy to do. Look at those who thank you. Zero knowledge about pakistani laws and you want to "SHARE" it with International audience

It is strange that there is no conviction. There can be two reasons -
i. No such crime takes place in Pakistan.
ii. The system is fatally flawed.

It's your country. Do whatever you please.

You may want to check the Indian 'rape threads' and also one member who considered himself the 'Rape reporter in PDF'. Check the Indian responses - almost all were apologetic, disgusted etc. There was no insult on faith like you tried doing here. You may still learn something from your perceived 'enemy'.

Now you are doing it right, countering the subject at hand with logic.

How about giving your insight into what is preventing the law from convicting these rapists?
