Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Masayoshi Sun, Chairman of the SoftBank Vision Fund, to create the world's largest solar energy plan. This agreement is a new framework for the development of the solar energy sector in Saudi Arabia, under which a new solar power plant will be established. Two solar plants with a capacity of 3 gigawatts and 4.2 gigawatts will be launched by 2019, and solar panels will be manufactured and developed in Saudi Arabia to produce between 150 and 200 gigawatts of solar energy power by 2030.

The MoU is based on the commitment of the two parties to the production and global distribution of solar panels with a capacity of 200 GW in Saudi Arabia, as well as opportunities to establish industries in the field of power generation systems and batteries in the Kingdom that will help to support sector diversification and job creation in advanced technologies. It is expected that the memo and the projects will help fuel energy production in Saudi Arabia, which will boost Saudi Arabia's role in supplying the world's oil-burning markets, especially as demand for oil is steadily increasing as production in some areas is depleted. The projects are expected to contribute an estimated 100,000 jobs in Saudi Arabia and increase Saudi Arabia's GDP by an estimated US $ 12 billion and an estimated US $ 40 billion annually.

Solar is a necessity. Once petrol is gone,
ir is the main local source and is needed
to run the desalting plants also needed.

As long you manufacture the panels, why
not export some thus replacing oil sales if
to a very tiny degree.

Great day SC & all, Tay.

Signing MoUs is the only thing that this guy is capable of. It is always "the best", "the biggest", "the greatest" plan/project/idea but in reality: nothing happens.

A bit strange seeing him several times lately without the traditional attire, mainly the غتره. :-)

He's on quite the mission, good for him. Saudiya is moving into a new and much better chapter because of him.

  • The crown prince met the 41st, 43rd US presidents of the US as he neared the end of his trip
  • The crown prince toured Habitat for Humanity homes that were flooded during Hurricane Harvey

HOUSTON: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met former US presidents George HW Bush, and his son George W Bush.

The crown prince also toured a Houston neighborhood that was devastated by Hurricane Harvey.

The subdivision Prince Mohammed toured Saturday is made up of Habitat for Humanity homes that were flooded last year. The crown prince is wrapping up a marathon tour of the US since arriving two weeks ago.

Volunteers from the US-based subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of Saudi Arabia, had helped residents in that neighborhood clean up after the storm damage.

The 32-year-old heir to the throne is on an ambitious mission to modernize Saudi Arabia and improve its image in the West. He’s also made stops in Washington, New York, Boston and on the West Coast.

"When in Rome, do as Romans do"..
It is different.. but as you just said.. the man is on an important mission..and he does not look bad in a suite at all..We have seen other Royal princes in suites before.. I am not sure if he will do it again when he becomes king.. but I am quite optimistic he will, since he symbolises the new, advanced and modern KSA..while keeping the traditions and culture alive and going in harmony with the most modern age and what it entails..

And MBS looks slimmer in Western attire.
I was beginning to draw a diet & exercise
plan to send to Riyadh ...

JK' great day all, Tay.
