Prospective Abstract: According to the British "Jane's Defense Weekly" reported that China may be through Pakistan France "Mika" air-to-air missile and the RC-400 radar technology.

According to the British "Jane's Defense Weekly reported that Road may through Pakistan to get France "Mika" air-to-air missile and the RC-400 radar technology. The British people are very worried, mainland China these technologies is likely to be the Taiwan Air Force Materiel French-made Mirage 2000-5 fighter threat. "Mika" air-to-air missile and the RC-400 radar technology are prohibited in the EU military lock-up.

The report referred to the likely French radar and missile technology by Pakistan, because Pakistan is that the country's JF-17 light fighter acquisition of weapons systems, and the models by the Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) joint development of a limited liability company and the aviation industry in Pakistan. According to Pakistani sources said Pakistan is and the French government to negotiate, to discuss the purchase MBDA company "Mika" type of air-to-air missile and Thales RC-400 utility radar related matters, in order to The equipment is being developed JF-17 fighter. According to informed sources, the deal reached a high likelihood, once the transaction is reached, it is likely to lead to relevant technology inflows into China.

The forward-looking reporter learned that: Mika (MICA) Department of interception and aerial combat missiles ", is a fourth-generation air-to-air missiles by Matra 1980s self-developed and deployed to replace the" Matra "ultra-530F / D, from the bar to shoot missiles and R550 "Magic" dogfight missile. And the performance of the product is comparable to the United States in range air to air missile (AMRAAM) Fortunately, by the high praise its accuracy and controllability. Taiwan's Air Force has ordered 460 sets of "Mika" air-to-air missile, part of "Mika" is also equipped with far infrared homing system.

Because of this, Western intelligence experts fear that if the weapons sold to Pakistan, then China is very likely to use reverse engineering method to study the technology. Because the matter is not without precedent, before the Chinese designers have studied and direct the F-16 multi-role fighter of the Pakistan Space Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Corporation is responsible for the development of the J-10 aircraft engineering, flew on to obtain a very large progress.
Once this technology into the mainland China, the situation in the Taiwan Strait as well as the military balance between China and India will undergo major changes.
The greater change is that, once the matter is prompted for the treaty before custom EU arms embargo would be empty, completely found an ability to circumvent the EU's arms embargo on the road. French Defense Ministry spokesman, said there is no reason not to cooperate with Pakistan and arms sales to the terms, including arms control measures are bound to have.

BS article.
janes lately is going down the drain at the speed of knots

The article is quoting Jane's and is not from Jane's.
It cannot be confirmed until one reads that issue of Jane's where this article points to.
Most french sources for eg.. are going to be full of crap for the JF-17 because of the Rafale deal and the need for political licking of India.

When asked if PAC after the JF 17 experience was in a position to undertake S/VTOL venture. Air Marshal Gul was very confident and realistic that yes, with the involvement of another country in the project it could be undertaken and hopefully PAC would live up to its milestone of designing and flying within 30 months.

The most significant being the C130 Allison T 56-A-15 engines and Mirage III Attar engines. On these engines, PAC has acquired the required level of quality assurance that even other countries are sending their equipment for overhauls and rebuilding. Now this has become a source of earning for Pakistan.

These days the most talked about aircraft is no other than JF-17, a joint production with the Chinese CATIC. Here PAC stunned the world when it designed the aircraft that took to the air within 30 months, it’s an amazing feat. Normal standards are that it takes at least 10 years to design and fly an aircraft. This is a minimum time for any aircraft anywhere in the world. Having achieved this, PAC has set tough standards for itself. Now the nation and the world at large expect similar feats in future also. Chairman was quite positive that given the task, similar feats would be performed again.

Now JF 17 is fully operational, the weapon system integration including the air to air weaponry has been completed. With that, Block 1 of JF 17 is also being completed. There has been some delay for reasons undisclosed but now Block 2 is ready to be launched sometimes this year.

Talking on its exports, presently PAC is meeting the demand of PAF, after that they have all the plans to export it to the world. Some hot queries are coming in but the production capacity remains the hindrance. To that it was suggested, PAC should expand the building capacity and double it. The additional capacity can be dedicated for foreign orders only.

JF 17 has participated in several airshows in different countries where it was highly praised for its agility, maneuverability and its looks. In every show it came out to be a jewel in the sky.

JF 17 is powered by Russian RD 93 engine that’s one of the most efficient engines. It has a thrust of 18,000 lbs and very fuel efficient. RD 93 is also powering the latest Russian aircraft like MIG 35. Therefore this engine has a future based on which, PAC can also develop more aircraft.

Pakistan through a contract has the right to manufacture 58% of the aircraft, so far it has achieved about 35%, and remaining 23% is also expected to be achieved by mid-2014. If achieved, it would be a major accomplishment not only for PAC but for Pakistan also.

Co-production and joint marketing with China is the true spirit behind the JF-17.but in a way both Pakistan and China are in competition also to sell and market it. On this Air Marshal Gul said that even if CATIC sells it, PAC would get its 58% component share irrespective therefore it’s a win win situation either way.

British "Jane's Defense Weekly, March 27 (advance), published an interview of Khaled Mahmoud, deputy director of the Pakistan Air Force JF-17 project. He said that Pakistan currently has two JF-17 fleet, it can carry BVR missiles, Anti-Air missiles and other advanced weapons, the performance of the RD-93 engine is also very good in the Sino-Pakistani joint military exercises in almost The confrontation with the Chinese Su-27.

The article said that in Pakistan fighter project, a joint venture with the Chinese JF-17 Battle matter of national honor, and the fighter itself together to become a pillar of the Pakistan Air Force in the coming decades.

Pakistan Air Force Brigadier General Khaled Mahmoud project has been identified as deputy director from the fighters are still And Sketchpad not yet created. He said, "Two years ago, we only have one containing 20 fighter squadron of JF-17, but we already have two such squadrons the two squadrons can combat, but a squadron two Functions: modified function and combat training., we plan to build a third support squadron, but has not yet determined the specific matters ".

He also said that Pakistan currently has approximately 40 JF-17 fighter flying last batch produced from an area in the final assembly stage. When it comes to the operating performance of the JF-17, Mahmoud convinced that Pakistan Air Force weapons integrated into the aircraft, weapons can be purchased on the free market and assembled JF-17 fighter, and domestic production .

JF-17 beginning in service, it only carries several PL-5E II air-to-air missiles, as well as the fuel tank, but now, the fighters DS-10 can carry air-to-air missiles, STV, G-802A anti-ship missiles, electronic pods and some common types of precision-guided weapons. Pakistan are adapting to a combination of different sources of weapons.

Air Commodore also asserted that the RD-93 engines of the JF-17 fighter engine with strong power in 7000 hours of continuous testing, RD-93 engine is not there any little problem ".

The report also said that China allegedly is working for the JF-17 fighter for the engine, but the Pakistan Air Force side seems to be currently very satisfied with the agreement with China and the former Soviet RD-93 designers, and in order to ensure that the demand for its own engine .

JF-17 has been fully equipped quick reaction alert function. Mahmoud mentioned, the models in the land of IFF (Identification Friend or Foe system), able to direct and effective way to combat the enemy. In the case of standard configuration, it can carry two PL-5E2-generation missiles, two SD-10 missiles and 2-3 drop tanks. Although it has the capacity to carry 4 SD-10 missile, the Pakistan Air Force decided to use the existing standard configuration. Digitized weapons interface is one of the technical difficulties, the breakthrough of this technology to make the weapons to carry with greater flexibility.

, JF-17 has not yet carried out combat, but it has been untested in many experiments. "We have the experience of fighting for a different fighter types in a complex environment," Brigadier General Mahmoud says.

The report also said the military exercises with the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighters to confront the Chinese Su-27 fighters in different contexts, and achieved gratifying results.(Qiang Jing Liang)

Reports say that JFT performed well against PLAAF SU27, why then does the PLAAF not seem interested in the ship?

My guess is that the JF-17 is too small for China's needs, given its greater range and ordnance requirements.

Reports say that JFT performed well against PLAAF SU27, why then does the PLAAF not seem interested in the ship?

Making JF-17 will create another logistic problem. JF-17 uses Kilmov RD-93 engine where J-10 uses AL-31FN engines which basically is the same as Su-27SK Al-31F except the gear boxes are located differently.

China is a very huge country. We are going for world projection strategy. Basically, China will be interested in fighter with longer legged like Su-27 which not only cover more area with lesser jets. But also able to go global and strike deep into enemy camp.

Which is also the reason you see the very slow progress induction of J-10B. All top priorities now goes to China flanker series like J-16, J-15, J-15S , J-11BS and Chengdu J-20. China is rich now and can afford the huge flanker fleet plus its high maintenance cost.

There is nothing wrong with JF-17 but every countries have different needs.
