Indian Navy Gets Quotes From 4 Jet Makers for $15 Billion Naval Fighter Deal

I wonder why mighty indian Flanker is not even in the initial list something like su33mki.
Indian Flanker love story is over so?
And yea typcial Indian defence news who are opened half century before its execution as usual.

With "blinkers" on you will continue to wonder ...

Just try if Su 33 available ?
Why are Russians replacing Su 33 with Mig 29K?
Indian Navy has got about 48 Mig 29K

So the " Typical Indian " news gets a " Typical Pakistani " response isnt it ?

Cancel the tender and go for F35 !

It is a waste of time and money, political leadership and armed forces are incapable of selecting a jet and inducting it as we have seen in Rafale's case.
Just get a feeling, all this exercise is to get F-35 (& subsequently US co-operation on EMALS for Vishal class carriers).

As lockheed martin isn't participating looks like F/A-18 will take the lead. Boeing is thinking to upgrade them to inc service upto 2030-40 which was earlier going to retired from 2019.
And we already bought EMALS and looking to buy more but US won't share tech. even with such deal.

F 35 has a long order wait list and therefore the whole situation needs to be looked into from pov of induction dates as well.

India doesn't operate any Generation V fighters and hypothetically if F 35 arrive, it will take a considerable time for their induction and weapon system integration. After that some more time would be required to establish support facilities and operations strategies.
this makes me believe that even if we order today, we won't have a fully operational squadron of F 35 before 2025-27 (~10years). This also is likely time of induction of Vishal class ACs, assuming we start building them from next year.
So in current scenario, our best bet is perhaps to get Rafale M, which will have a huge commonality with IAF Rafale.
perhaps @Vergennes can explain better how France is experiencing use of Rafale for both AF and on-board Charles De Gaul AC.

Why why do you think US will give us F-35 with ToT & 50% offset value too, we can buy them offshell so forget about F-35 in this deal. F/A-18 is the best option and boeing is trustable partner.
