Mirage 2000 is ground attack fighter, So it is not comparable to F16, but don't forget that same M2000(greek) brought down Turk's F16...
MiG29 SMT is neck to neck comparable to F16, Infact MiG29 was made to challenge F16... In close fight MiG29 will have edge, in BVR (American environment) F16 will have edge...
I WILL suggest you to watch a documentary on MiG29 (Made by American and East germans), The german and American claim MiG29 was far more superior than F16 (their words, not mine)...
F-16 and Mig-29 are both agile and deadly fighters, however there is a reason that most of the pilots who have flown both aircraft are of the view that the F-16 is more potent.
The Mach and G number limits on both planes is similar but it does not indicate the parameters under which the max G limit, roll rate, sustained turn rate etc. can be reached.
Actually once the external fuel tank is jettisoned, a viper can pull 9Gs regardless of the Mach/airspeed, there was however a design limitation on Mig 29 (on the vertical stabilizers) which puts it under severe stress over 7Gs at greater than Mach 0.85 at a very wide range of altitude.
The F-16 has been reported to sustain higher Gs for a longer time and most of the pilots who have flown both aircraft reported that the turning rate of F-16 is better.
Actually the F-16s sustained turn rate is one of its most distinguishing characteristics.
The roll rate of Fulcrum also drops dramatically at low speeds when compared to an F-16.
There is a reason why F-16 is one of the most respected and agile dog fighters, it is because its design enables the pilot to push it to its limits under a very broad spectrum of conditions.
I am not downplaying the fulcrum and i am sure that experienced Mig-29 pilots can make life difficult for anyone, however the Viper retains its venom for WVR combat under a wider array of air combat scenarios.
Now the one thing that must have improved in the new Mig-29s is the handling (man to machine) which was quite ordinary in the earlier models especially compared to the really responsive F-16s.
The radar and other avionic attributes have also improved over the years.
Also the excellent WVR missiles of Mig-29 coupled with the HMS will give anyone a headache.
However, the F-16 has also seen tremendous improvements in radar, weapons, HMS, engines etc.
All in all the flying characteristics cannot evolve so much so as to render the F-16 inferior to Mig 29; that can only be done if the basic design is significantly altered which will render this argument moot anyways.
When we are talking about the airframe characteristics, I really do not think that Mig-29 enjoys an edge in WVR over a viper.
Coming to IAF vs PAF, it is the MKI that is the mainstay of IAF and no doubt it is one of the best fighters there is.
