I Have a Mistake In My Surname in My New Passport Which I Recieved What Should I do

well brother and sister i need a serious help from you about a month ago i submitted for my new passport as old passport date is finished i submitted in Pakistani Embassy in Dubai Today i got it when i saw the passport they have one mistake done in it in my surname.

in id my name is MAKHDOOM MOHAMMAD HASSAN

and in passport they wrote surname HASSAN

and name MAKHDOOM MOHAMMAD

and the big probleum is im traveling to pakistan on 2nd of november if i gave them for a correction they will take too much time and my office will not allow me anymore Holidays after this so what should i do

can i apply for correction in pakistan and what type of papers i may need there and and what will be the fees for correction in pakistan i searched net for this topic but i did not find it thats why i have post here may be someone of you know the process of correction and what documents i need and what fees should they take please help me on this and other probleum is that i have to travel on this passport which i just got it in which they have mistake in my surname and when i travel they will stamp in my that passport when i exit the dubai airport if i correct my mistake in passport they will give me new passport i think than the stamp of exit of dubai airport will be on the mistaken surname passport when i return this will not be a probleum on dubai airport please help me on this one hope someone does

I dont see any problem for you going to Pakistan, but when returning back to dubai, there the problem might arise.
In Saudi Arabia, Correction of name usually takes max 2 days. What they do is write your name in order on a passport page and is stamped and signed by the authorized embassy official. I've had my name added and corrected on my passport this way.

and it will be better if you ask for the procedure from Pakistan Embassy beforehand, procedures and time may vary.

ok sir thankx alot for your help but embassey in dubai sir is complicated i think may be i ask them tommorrow too but may be in pakistan they do the same too as you mentioned and they have made mistake on my computerized passport

Believe me it will be a headache for you in Pakistan, Kateer Zehma at NADRA offices all over Pakistan. All of your vacations will be wasted, and there is no guarantee the passport will be delivered back to you on time. So be careful sir.

yaaar procedure here in duabi is worst in pakistan it will take 12 days to have new passport normal i will try to ask them not to take my dubai issued passport with them when they make correction becoz on that passport they have exit stamps from dubai or that

I had a bit problems but in the time, the Pak Embassy in Riyadh did the correction!

I knew of this problem before i applied for the new computerized passport, because the embassy staff in Dubai dont care much about surnames, (why?, i dont know). In my old passport I did not have my family name so i told them to add my family name based on the copy of my father's passport (which was the older version at that time) where my grandfather's name had the surname after his name.

1) If they amend your name on the passport and use a correction stamp it should not be a problem for entering UAE and you can apply for amendment of the visa after entering.

2) If you apply for amendment and get a new passport with the correct name, then you should get the old one back canceled with a remark on the new one saying that the old one is returned back as it is "bearing valid visa" and you can enter on the new passport with the old one attached to it and later you can apply for getting an amendment on visa as per the correct name on the new passport.

the probleum is here that i have a visa on my passport which is not valid anymore than i submitted for renewal of passport they gave me new fresh passport on which is the mistake in surname and if they give me another new passport than i will have to keep three of those with me becoz the first one which is not valid have a visa on it and second one which have a mistake will have a exit stamp on it too and the third one which they will give me will be the one which i have to use


but in pakistan they can correct the name and stamp it i think it wil be fine for me on the same passport which they have mistaken my surname is it posssible and what will be the fees for this correction please reply

You could land in deep trouble

Maybe they wouldnt accept you coming back saing that you dont have a Exit-Re-entery Visa?

This is how it was supposed to be written anyway

and if you are sure the problem is somewhere in your passport, then give a call to your embassy for more information - i mean how long they take for correction etc but i think its better to just travel like that and when you are back -give an ammendment

Buy ticket with the name of your passport
Ignore NADRA card as they see only a glimpse of that card - just follow the name of your passport
