Btw I have a question. Someone from India told me that Marathas/Marathis can only be Hindus? Is it true or Maratha/Marathis can be Muslims, Christians etc too? It is really an honest innocent question, so plz no need to get defensive.

yes they can be muslims ,jews ,christan ,buddist but majority are hindus

Marathis are people living in Maharastra state and speaking Marathi, they can hindus, Muslims or any religion.

But if speak of caste Maratha, then its only found in Hindus.

yes there are marathis who are muslims and christians..

zaheer khan is one of the most well known marathi muslim...other one is dawood ibrahim.
