Happy news but Hopefully this is not an adhoc addition. It has to be part of a package, including and especially drones. Even MRAPs would only save lives initially in an ambush with an IED, nothing beats having a drone up or some sort of CAS. The price is not prohibitive (5million per drone for the Turkish one) and neither are running costs and will be helpful on the eastern border eventually also.

Awesome news if it is 4x4 from Hamza family of MRAPS/APCs.

It shud b local followed by Chinese or Turkish than Russian than South African and than American in that priority.

Its not just getting armour its getting the culture and infrastructure of force protection

We already have too much Chinese stuff in our inventory.

Strait group is one of the best option available to us. It has at least three MRAP which offer protection upto STANAG 4569 Level 3. We can request or with group to take protection to level IV.

Even USA police uses them. Even forces in Europe has them. There is no ideal place. Yes we have eliminate insurgency but even against common criminals like raiding to arrest a murderer or a known wanted criminal Armored vechiles should lead the operation.

As per sources first of all whatever is available with us will handover to our troops who are in hostile condition while rest of the troops will equipped with both indigenous and acquired ones but now first priority is our soldier who are fighting near Afghan border.

you can even get them from USA from EDA stock if you ask for it
but the higher ups dont care about soldiers
that is the only explanation otherwise you would have bought them from korea, turkey, south africa and 20 other countries if you couldn't build one or if USA had refused
