As of now, we have more generation of electricity than actual consumption. We are paying more money to IPPs than our actual demand. This is what pissing off current PTI govt. Also with the contruction of two mega water dam projects, Mommand and Bhasa, there will be enough electicity till 2050. Problem is our current infrastructure, which needs an update to utililze our power generation efficiently.

By the time a proper network of charging stations is built which isn't possible before 2026, Pakistan's electricity generation will be far greater.

Of course. We don't have a proper network now, and we hope for a proper network of charging stations soon. Makes perfect sense, given that we will have solved the circular debt issue plaguing the power sector by then. Right?

Not really, its more complicated then that. For one instead of reducing theft by cutting of kundas, govt just start loadshedding in high theft areas. Instead of working to curb theft and increase revenues which will mean more usage of capacity instead of load shedding.

Just hope they don't go down the Tesla model and make it affordable so there is an impact on our fuel consumption and carbon footprint but this is awesome news

Electric vehicle is the future. I am also shopping around for the first EV to replace my current combustion engine one.

I can accept the generation gap like in defence sector where you can skip gen 1, 2, 3 fighters and start making/procuring gen 4 fighter.
However, commercially this can be a suicide. You can't convince people who litter the streets, to spend extra money, so that they can have a safer/cleaner vehicle. Plus, electricity is not cheap.

In UK the min wage is around 1331£. The electric units price is 0.0125% of it (14.5 p). So how come one can operate it in Pakistan?

Dude the Awam that will buy these cars is already driving land cruisers and land rowers.
Rest of the public will slowly learn.

Plus if Pakistan is progressing and having more SMEs, I bet Pakistan will need more electricity than those 2 dams can produce, even with no transmission losses.

Watch both of these videos. The biggest issue with electric cars right now is the lack of charging stations and blackouts. Economically speaking EVs are way cheaper to operate than petrol vehicles here, it's not even a contest.

RS 65,00,000 for this junk. Hell' No.

MG went Bankrupt and then bought over by govt owned Chinese SAIC group. Now they are selling low-quality junk in Asia region. Just looking at the video, the vehicle looks low quality for the price range. Use of plastic all over, the rear seat would not even fold all the way. Assuming the host has an average Pakistani height of 5' 8. He is even struggling to fit in the back seat. I doubt the Chinese would care to implement European or American crash tests, national highway standards for these vehicles, and spend extra money on each veh. Pakistan is better off introducing a Hybrid Toyota CH-R or Rav4 for a lot less money.
