FM meetings : Peace momentum stalls

If these peace talks can make any difference, then India-Pak conflict would be a history long long back. Its good to have some talks going on from time to time, but honestly speaking, the current situation is not going to change forever. I am a very positive and optimistic man otherwise, but for India pak peace talk giving any concrete results, forget it, its NOT going to happen.

India has no interest in peace with Pakistan. India's goals in the region is to figure out ways to keep Pakistan on the boil.

Peace in the region would be beneficial to Pakistan, not to India.

Since I can remember India refuses to even talk about anything serious and the bits and pieces it does commit to, it makes a whole show and dance about how a big sacrifice they've made.

Only thing serious for India is the terror from across the border everything follows after that. Nothing is or will be more important than this at any point of time.

And the thing about peace is crap , Pakistan/or its leadership doesnt value peace or Kargil wouldn't be being planned when A B Vajpayee went to Lahore on a peace trip or open support to taliban or negotiating deals with ttp. India just want peace within its borders at any cost all other deal issues are far less important

Supporting, abetting and promoting anti-India groups and activities is Pakistan's policy, they will not give that up and India should understand that and live with it

They won't reign in their terrorist activities, best way to go forward for India is keep growing at 9%, arm itself and pay them back with the same coin

You can't shake hand with somebody that has clinched fists

Alas ..!!!
Another opportunity to make things straight gone to waste. It has become a tradition that Pakistan is tolerating such indian behaviour.. !!!
Why not go for exterior maneuvers .. maybe that'l help India come to tables and let go its traditional un-serious attitude..!

When Krishna was being directed by fundamentalists in Delhi how can these talks would have succeeded.

Krishna got directions from Delhi, was constantly on phone: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI: Among the many complaints voiced by Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday against his Indian counterpart S M Krishna was that he had "repeatedly" received directions from New Delhi during their talks, a suggestion rejected by the external affairs minister.

Taking a dig at Krishna, Qureshi said he had "repeatedly" received directions from New Delhi during their talks, suggesting that the Indian Minister had limited mandate for the parleys.

Qureshi, who was acerbic during a press conference in Islamabad, said "I led Pakistan's team and I didn't need to make even a single phone call (to Pakistan leaders) during the day-long talks. Krishna is the principal for giving direction to foreign policy (but) why were directions being sent repeatedly from Delhi?"

Krishna rebutted Qureshi's claim that he was constantly on telephone line with New Delhi during talks.

Describing Qureshi's statement as "extraordinary", he said he was "totally cut-off" from India and never used the telephone.

"I have not spoken to anybody. The mandate given to me was so precise, so clear, that it does not need any additional instructions from Delhi," he said.

But, he maintained, that even if he had used the telephone, in diplomacy it was not wrong in keeping touch with the base.

"Foreign ministers are always in touch with their base, with the political leadership and governmental leadership. There is nothing wrong even if something has happened on these lines," he said.

After reading the comments from our neighbour members all i can say with this attitude no one can talk....you guys are Talking like we are dependent on you or something... If the talk don't include the problems we want to discuss and only want your aims to be fulfilled than whats the point of talks...

who is tolerating?? ur FM doesn't have the courtesy how to talk about FM of other country when he was actually at its soil?? at the start of the press conference he was speaking so sweetly. wht happened after that???? he breached all the the diplomatic protocols. and one more thing today also he didn't say anything about proofs regarding Baluchistan..........

This sad once again ... no progress i hope there is some sort of progress sooner or later we both need friendship and peace its the only way to be living next to each other GOD help us all.

On 26/11 Pakistani nationals attacked India and the masterminds behind that attack are still state guests in Pakistan, what does that say?

If you think that you can get concessions on any other front using the terrorism card, you are mistaken, come what may India won't give in to blackmail

Best way to go forward is take credible action against perptulators of 26/11, shows that you are serious against terrorism emitting from your soil and are not inclined to use terrorism as state policy and after that probably meaning full dialogue can take place

The news source you used is Times of India....the same Indian orange media whom you were criticising just today itself....you are the best example of double standards miss jana..

anyways on topic....the same article also says that Qureshi's claim were completely rejected by Krishna of getting directons from New Delhi...

Describing Qureshi's statement as "extraordinary", he said he was "totally cut-off" from India and never used the telephone.

"I have not spoken to anybody. The mandate given to me was so precise, so clear, that it does not need any additional instructions from Delhi," he said

....now whom do you belive? the Orange media article that you used for the support of your post or Mr Qureshi..since he is your foreign minister..:pop:

everything happened wrong in FM meeting...the behaviour of FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi was not good,he is behaving like a child,i don't know why he was behaving like that but i just listen the comment of senior journalist of pakistan he said" he is behaving like that because he wanted to be a PM. he wants to build a strong vote bank in pakistan."
my question is that "Is right to insult the FM of india in press conference only for build a strong vote bank." may be once he will be the next PM of pakistan by killing the relationship of Pak and India. but is it right ?
How is he behaving like a child....Please elaborate...

Also tell me who said he wants to be a PM...Do support your post with sources.

India has billion mouth to feed and strategically it is positioned on the wrong side of Asia. Peace in the region benefits everyone execpt India. Therefore India should aid anti-state elements across south asia and keeps its own terriotery on the calm to keep FDI flowing and economy growing. They refuse to discuss any root causes of terrorism but make good stage performance. Bollywood must have been most sucessfull academia in India. Since the talks have failed, I assume soon we are going to have another mumbai style drama on Indian soil. And then the whole Indian political clout would point finger "we told you so..".

We need to stop begging for this so called peace, keep strict vigiliance on India, build economy, contain our own terrorist elements and build our clout in the world which allows us to purchase sophiscated defense equipment. We are an idealogical nation and out prosperity lies in progress and strong defense. Lesson are to be learnt from Taiwan, Israel, South Korea and Turkey.

Over time India and Pakistan will come to peace with each other however mistrust and thorns will remain forever. This is just the nature of regional politics between traditional power and idealogical states. It is just the norm which goes around the world..think taiwan and china, Israel and arab world, Japan and china. There is no limit to human potential if realized.
