Famous Drama Writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar got angry - left the talk show

The minimum age of marriage in various US States, with parental/guardian consent, ranges between 15-17.

So yes, please keep your ignorant anti-Pakistan views to yourself.

Who cares about the US man.

I am not an American to be putting them on a pedestal.

And don't be rude. Two can play that game.

Cheers, Doc

You already crossed the line with your 'maintaining my own council' comment. If you don't want to be trashed and exposed for the jahil hate-monger you are, then next time leave out the passive aggressive displays of hate and insults.

The minimum age of marriage in Pakistan has been steadily increased over time and is now a provincial subject instead of Federal. Sindh has already passed laws making the minimum age of marriage 18 and Punjab is in the process of doing the same.

Counsel, not council.

And yes, I think marrying little girls off at an age they are barely into high school is a tad 7th century.

Does that make me a hate monger or an enlightened man in the 21st century.

To someone following precepts from the 7th century, its the former. To the rest of the world, the latter.

Jahilya is by action.

Did you miss the part about the provinces already working on changing the minimum age of marriage to 18?

If you're actually interested in a proper discussion, then ask a question and leave out the underhanded insults.

Don't tag me again if that is too much for you.

First of all you were the guy who jumped and took offense when none was implied .... at you.

I tagged you along with Jamahir because if the conversation we had had earlier about old men and young girls.

Out there your position was that of a normal decent 21st century enlightened man.

What got you hot under the collar here?

Because Pakistan was pointed out and you felt beholden to jump to its rescue?

Or because the agnostic Muslim felt that it was his duty to support such 7th century thinking because that was what drove such laws in an Islamic Republic?

It was scary the way the guy shut the anchor and the lady up invoking Islam.

We are probably going down the same road with the Hindu fanatics but thank God we are nowhere close to being at a stage where we can shit someone up on a matter of law invoking personal faith.

I won't tag you if you do not want to be tagged. But if you reply to this, then I will respond if I feel a response is warranted.

Cheers, Doc

Assumptions, assumptions assumptions. I didn't defend anything, merely pointed out certain facts. My post history on threads dedicated to this topic on this forum speaks for itself.

What bothered me was your resort to underhanded insults without waiting to see what the situation actually was in Pakistan regarding the minimum age of marriage, where the origin of the current laws was, what the direction of the country was on this issue, what the roadblocks were, how Pakistan compared to Western nations etc.

You didn't want a debate or discussion, just an opportunity to bash Pakistan and Islam.

Ok this is not going anywhere. I've said my piece.

And btw, bibi is for a senior female.

I am Padam baba.

Cheers, Doc

16 year girls are marriageable age in Pakistan?

Wow. Just wow.

@jamahir @AgNoStiC MuSliM sitting on 2 warnings, I will maintain my own counsel, but you know where I'm going with this.

Cheers, Doc

Not in Punjab and Sindh.

But, with and/or without parental/judicial consent, are in Portugal, The United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Norway, Italy, France, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Israel, Ukraine, Turkey, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Poland, Iran, all states of the US except 5, most of the Americas, and quite a few others.

15 years in Zoroastrianism according to the Avesta.

Uneducated is as uneducated does. Desperate is as desperate acts.

Add semantics in between Padam and Baba
Uneducated is as uneducated does. Desperate is as desperate acts.
So where does PEMRA come into all of this?

Government has ambitious plans for social justice and social media but cannot control consumerism and exploitation in mainstream media?

This general lack of discipline is a national tragedy. One of the adverse effects of placing it 3rd after Faith and Unity.
