Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said Bangladesh will not plunge into an era of darkness if her party remains in power.

"I know that the people of Bangladesh will not want to go back to darkness," she said. She made the remarks while addressing a reception accorded to her by the US chapter of the Awami League at the Holiday Express Inn Hotel in Washington on Wednesday.

Terming 29 years of the BNP-Jamaat governments the era of darkness, Hasina said they did nothing for the people, rather they made their own fortunes.

"The BNP-Jamaat clique has erased 29 years from the life of the Bangladeshi people. The Awami League has bridged the gap of the years by conducting massive development works across the country from 2009 till date," she said.
Bangladesh has been able to earn the recognition as a developing country during the period because the country was run with specific plans and democratic process and stability continued in the country since 2009, the PM said.

Hasina said her government is preparing to start the country's journey as a developing nation from 2026 and that's why they have formed a committee, led by her principal secretary, to find ways to ease the journey towards development and prosperity.

"I know if the Awami League remains in power, Bangladesh's journey as a developing country will face no difficulty," she said.

Hasina is very aware that her BAL party can stay in power only in a midnight election without voters. So, she is asking here her countrymen to accept such an election.

I support her plea. After all, her Joy Kumar lost $10 billion, his large house and American visa. Her daughter Putul Kumari even lost her Canadian visa permission.

Our countrymen should sympathize with her plea to elect her without even a voting. Her family lost sooo much!!!

How do we know if the picture is not an old one and is a fake now. No one saw her with Joy Kumar even when she was visiting WB HQ with the Padma Bridge photographs.

Joy Kumar had already left for Dubai and could not go back to the States. Now, he is in Singapore with the daughter of Aziz Khan the BAL Quack.

The photograph is a fake to prove that Joy Kumar is in America. But, he is in Singapore and his $10 billion and properties have been confiscated by the GoA.

Her father was educated. He got his BA degree from Dhaka University, and was a famous politician after 1947. But, he was a type of Gunda that his descendants and BAL brats are following.

Mujib was a University student when most Bengali Muslims were not attending even Primary Schools. Not from a Zaminder family, but his family was a moderate ilandholding family.

A poor woman can possess good qualities and a rich woman can be a bullying type. Hasina may have learned many of her bad qualities from the Tungipsra peasant Muslim environment of those old days. Her childhood was spent there while Mujib was living in Dhaka.

Hasina indeed has a low background. Her grandfather Sheikh Lutfar was a clerk in a government office and Sheikh Mujib was more of a street fighter for Suhrawardy.

In fact, Hasina was rejected by all the noble families when Sheikh Mujib sent proposals for her wedding, that includes Salahuddin Kader Chowdhury. That's despite the fact that by that time Sheikh Mujib was already a major politician in Pakistan. Even Wazed Miah was forced into the marriage against his wishes from what I heard.

Not just Hasina, pretty much all the leaders in Awami League come from peasant background. This eventually helped AL to build a strong grassroot.

BNP OTOH was formed with retired military officers, bureaucrats, members from zamindar/industrial families, academics which is why they never had as strong grassroot as AL.
