What's new

Compatible with the Rafale aircraft carriers with a springboard

.
welll
NAVAL LCA would be good addition but the point is if we can have a powerful platform like Rafale into our fleet .U can understand what unprecedented capabilty would indian navy have if that happens.

Sure Rafale M is more advanced than anything we have at present. But let us give NLCA a chance, we dont know how much the little kid can play. Maybe he is a genius :P

.
And newer version of Mig-29s has higher level of composites, so the radar signature is far lower than it's counterparts, even below <1 Sq m.
what!!!
smiley-laughing025.gif

that would make mig 29 stealthier than rafale

.
^^of course our navy Mig 29k is not as superior as rafale & also LCA navy is not as advanced as rafale.Meanwhile IAF has Su 30 mki ,
rafale,LCA mark 1& 2, Mig 29 & PAK FA
But WTF indian navy has ???meanwhile chinese navy would have J15

Hey Rafale fanboy, you are becoming too greedy.....

You forgot that before mig 29k(4++ gen aircraft) navy was operating a third gen sea harriers that too in limited nos. now the navy will add nearly 90 mig 29k to it's inventory add to that NLCA (maybe 50), but yes i will love to see Rafale M in IN colors but certainly mig 29k deserves much more than "WTF" :)

As far as China is concerned it doesn't even has a operational carrier till now, Varyag when operational will be a training ship for the naval aviators, so i don't see a AC threat from China at least 5-7 years from now. Even if it will be having operational carrier, the first ones will be deployed in SCS & Pacific in it's fight against the Americans, there is no threat of a Chinese AC in IOR in the near future.

of course!! i am not saying we shouldnt have N LCA but having a mixture of rafale & N LCA would be handy & rafale can provide CAS to little baby NLCA against future threats:D

.
90 Mig-29K are u sure... i thought total 45. Wow... with few LCA Indian navy will be very strong.
Even French navy has 18/20 Rafale for Multi-role and 35/40 Dassault Etendard for ground attack.

Another thread is running on the same. Given that INS Vikramaditya and IAC-1 can accommodate 60-70 Mig-29s at any given time, IN will keep 20 Mig-29s for immediate replacement for maintenance and overhauling purpose in Goa. Going by that logic, a number of 90 seems legit.

that would make mig 29 stealthier than rafale

Mig-29M has a RCS of 5 Sq m, latest Mig-29K and Mig-35 has RCS 4-5 times lesser than basic Mig-29s.

Due to special coatings Mig-29K radar reflecting surface is 4-5 times smaller than of basic MiG-29.

Hey Rafale fanboy, you are becoming too greedy.....
haaa.haa
BTW "RAFFY" is the scientific name for rafale's fanboyism:D
& well regarding greedy u can say that ,but not for me but for our navy

well u r correct about that part ,i think i was too derogatory about Mig 29k .But incomparision what INDIAN airforce is going
to have in future dont u think INDIAN navy deserves better .

As far as China is concerned it doesn't even has a operational carrier till now, Varyag when operational will be a training ship for the naval aviators, so i don't see a AC threat from China at least 5-7 years from now.
well i think ur wrong it is not going to be any training ship ,infact it is going to be operational & u could ask any chinese member about that.
But what would be their carrier fighter whether J15 or something else need to be seen

I must say, because this was translated this was pretty horrible to read. And tbh it is a good offer but I think it is a bit of a non-starter wrt to the Vikramditya and IAC-1 fighter wings as orders have already been placed for Mig-29Ks to equip both so I don't see this offer being to inticing for the IN. But,of course, the Rafale remains a strong contender for fighter wings of future IN ACCs IAC2- equipped with catapults/EMALS for the N-MMRCA programme.

.
IAC-1 will be more in the class of INS Vikramaditya, both in tonnage and STOBAR config, it'll be quite delusional for someone to think IN will acquire something else for IAC-1 other than Mig-29Ks. Given that IN did their fair bit of research before selecting Mig-29s, where it out scored the likes of Su-33.

ultimately it's not the question of Will?? but When?? I think the only thing that will stop IN inducting Rafale Ms is IN inducting F-35s in the future, it will not be wrong to induct F-35 if Americans offer it to the navy since it is a gen ahead of Rafale, but yes if Americans deny it to IN or there are conditions attached to it, there will be no doubt that Rafales are the second best bet for the IN.

plz read the article it says
radarreflectingsurface.jpg

IT says radar reflecting surface not radar cross section both are different thing ask any military proffesional he would also say the same thing & it is impossible for a straight air intake plane to have a RCS less than 1m2 that looks impossible

sorry boss

well it really depends upon Indian navy what suits them & it's carrier better of course on pen & paper RAFALE looks formidibale
but u should weigh yours options & requirements wisely before choosing anything.
For the time being MIG 29K is the best bet for IN .Rest leave it for INDIAN NAVY himself.

Given that IN is seeking for 2-3 Amphibious assault ships,S/VTOL F-35s will perfectly fit into those, along with some helicopters. I won't sacrifice assault capability of a carrier by stationing only F-35s

STOBAR configuration can be added at will. :)

Radar cross section of an aircraft is directly proportional and somewhat equals to the total surface being exposed to incoming radio waves. Time to go back to your basics Mr Dentist.

well i think consult a stealth specialist may be call My dear chinese friend MARTIAN :partay:
But if it really has RCS < 1m2 then dump rafale:rofl:

Mig-29s does lack in certain areas like sensors, radars, armaments, electronic countermeasures, pay load, agility and climb rate when compared with Rafale. But for IAC-1, i'll go for Mig-29Ks, it's still better than F-18s and Su-33.
