This PLAN guy must have been smoking Afghan weed! The world must beware of these feather-brains who keep spouting nonsense at regular intervals. Their daily tonnage of wet dreams is so huge, they'll put the Niagara Falls to shame!

Now let's see what the US Navy would have by 2020.

The Pentagon will shift the bulk of its naval assets to Asia within the next decade. Under the plan, the U.S. would shift cruisers, destroyers, submarines and other warships so that 60% of them will be based in the Pacific by 2020. Currently, the U.S. Navy fleet of 285 ships is evenly split between the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Despite budget cuts that are projected to shrink Pentagon spending by $487 billion over the next 10 years, the U.S. will develop new weapons to help shore up the U.S. presence in Asia. The absolute number of ships would increase in Asia, as ships are drawn down from the Atlantic Fleet and others reassigned to the Asia Pacific region.

There is no doubt that the US Naval force projection - undersea, surface, and air - for 2020 and beyond in the Asia Pacific region would make it virtually impossible to match by PLAN. The US is far ahead not only in technology but more importantly the experience of fighting in an ASB environment.

The United States is and will remain a Pacific power, even more so in this century than in the last. And the PLAN which is living in a world of make-believe better watch out if they know what's good for them. Chinese Generals must stop the habit of always shooting from the hip.

I think I will post something from ONI which carries more weight than some indian fanboys.

Liu Huaqing -- an assessment from U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI)

Admiral Liu Huaqing was the third commander of the PLA(N) (1982-1988) and one of the foremost maritime strategists produced by the People's Republic of China. Born in 1916, Liu joined the PLA in 1930 and was a veteran of its Long March. His transition from the army to the navy began in 1952, after which he served in a variety ofoperational and technical assignments including Deputy Commander of the North Sea Fleet, Vice Minister of the 6th Ministry of Machine Building (Ship Building), and Deputy Chief of the General Staff, before assuming the position ofPLA(N) Commander in August 1982.

In a military dominated by the "great infantry" concept, Liu was much more than just an army officer serving in naval assignments. Instead, Liu proved himself to be a forward thinking maritime strategist who developed the PLA(N),s current strategy of"offshore defense," began the now robust program of naval diplomacy and foreign engagement, and laid the intellectual and technical foundations for the rapidly modernizing PLA(N) of today.
In the final phase of his military career, Liu served on the Central Military Commission, where he would eventually become the senior vice chairman and one of the most powerful men in the Chinese military behind then-CMC Chairman Deng Xiaoping.

Says nothing there that he wants to match USN ship for ship.
He is also considered as the father of modern Chinese navy as well as PLAN carrier program.
I hope people here are able to distinguish what he actually said from media gossips.

They want to shift nearer to our range of saturated attack of cruise missile and ABM? Oh, thats better.

We can buy weapons because they are willing to sell us their state of art equipments....we even buy from Russia which we are doing since past 40 decades and they don't take Instructions from the west or else they wouldn't have sold you their engines and sukhois....and believe me their are good numbers of Anti-US people in India more than you can ever imagine....

Before blaming others as the hardliners look at ureself.....you are poking India since 1962 US wasn't the friend of India at that time.Indian democracy is fake??Please elaborate what is the true form of democracy according to you..
The fact is that your country is soo much eager too become self sustained in every area of growth that you are ready to upset most of the world to achieve this..

Don't fool yourself. Nobody will sell their state of art weapon? Example? F-22 is not for sale. So how can you get state of art from others. I pity India that possess that kind of mentality that buy major weapons from other is a feat.. For a big country like India, still import majority weapon overseas is a shame. Even all indigeous weapon needs oversea spare parts to complete the weapon..

No wonder, India suffer such high trade deficiency and economy is crumbling. One indicator? Your rupee is going to turn worthless soon. Can use it as toilet paper, oh sorry. I know Indian dont use toilet paper.
